I was hoping by now to have pictures of our updated kitchen to show you. Of course, by now I also hoped to actually be able to cook a meal in our newly refreshed kitchen but as often happens with kitchen updates, we have had a “delay”. Right now, we are 90% done (and so, so happy to be so close); I am just waiting on our new range to be delivered.
As of this afternoon tracking is showing it arrived at our Home Depot store (almost a week early, yay!) so hopefully within the next few days we can pick it up and get it home and installed. I opted to not have it delivered to expedite being able to get it here. There are times when having two teenage boys and a truck makes life a whole lot easier! So, soon I will hopefully be able to show you all the finished room. I am thankful we decided to make these updates in good weather. We have learned you can cook most of what you need with a grill, a cast iron skillet and an air fryer (I purchased this combo air fryer/toaster oven to get us through and it has been great).
Anyway, today I thought I’d share some summer decor inspiration. I always enjoy looking at spaces that reflect the season we are in. Summer is without a doubt my favorite time of the year and we have plenty of posts from our archives to help appreciate the season. Here are some of my favorite spaces…
Earlier this year I shared the simple summer update we made to our bedroom, you can see it here.
Christy has always lucked out with welcoming southern porches, like the one at the MCC house (above) and the Magnolia Cottage (below). You can see the posts about the MCC house HERE. There is something about a porch that is so perfect for summer.
See more of the Magnolia Cottage porch HERE. (You can see all the posts about the home here)
Over the years we’ve joined up with our friend Marty at A Stroll Thru Life to share our homes as part of her seasonal home tour. Last year I shared my Summer Home Tour, you can see it all here.
I also shared a summer tablescape in that post on our newly finished deck.
Last summer, Christy’s friend Mary graciously allowed us to feature her beautiful home all decorated for the season.
You can see part 1 of the tour HERE and part 2 HERE, I love the blue and white touches and the classic elegance in her home so much.
In 2019 I shared some more pictures of our kitchen and a summer tablescape, you can see that post here.
Christy shared her summer home tour from the MCC House here, that was one of my favorite tours with the lemon theme decor she used!
Also from a few year’s back, I featured some spaces from my parents’ former home decorated for summer. This porch was always a favorite spot, but luckily they have an even larger porch in their current home they can enjoy.
This was our dining room in our former home (I miss that French chandelier!), here it is styled for summer, again with our favorite blue and white. You can see more of this home here.
Finally, another one of my favorite summer posts was this “light up the night” summer home tour that Christy shared. Her pretty deck looked just as nice in the evening as it did during the day!
Before I go, I’ll leave you with another favorite summer post, the Pink Lady Cocktail. You can get the recipe to make your own here!

All so beautiful! I don’t really have the decor/furniture to do blue and white but this combo just speaks summer to me! I know you’re excited to get the new range installed! Can’t wait to see the new space.
