Hi everyone! Each season we partner up with 30 other decor bloggers to showcase the summer decor in our homes. Today is our day to share, along with five other blogs. The complete list of everyone on the tour is at the bottom of this post and for those of you truly touring home by home and coming over from Thrifty & Chic — welcome! If you are new here you can read more about Christy & I and our years of blogging here at 11 Magnolia Lane by clicking here. Thank you to Marty from A Stroll Thru Life for putting this tour together each season!
I was looking forward to this tour because as I had shared earlier this Spring, we’ve made some updates in our main living room and I had high hopes of revealing them during this tour. However, the pandemic this Spring delayed the shipping of our new couches, and as luck would have it they are arrived not in late April as originally scheduled but (they tell me) they will arrive TODAY! So not in time for the pictures for the tour but I am sure I’ll have some new images up on Instagram so be sure to follow us over there. If you need me, I’ll be stuck at home waiting for the delivery truck, but that is ok, I am stuck at home anyway, right?
All things considered, our 18 year old couch is doing pretty well, we’ve had it for so long now I almost can’t imagine replacing it but the time has come. After much debate we will have two facing couches in here on either side of the fireplace. This is Auggie, he makes sure to be in every picture, you can read more about our rescue puppy here.
I had found these dark blue pillows at the Pottery Barn Outlet in early spring and swapped them out in here once the weather got warm. The bright pops of blue added some much needed summer brightness to this room.
I have always decorated with neutrals in our decor, I mostly use white slipcovered furniture and light colored walls since they lend themselves easily to any color I decide to add. It’s not unusual for me to use bright blue during the warmer months, pops of it are perfect for summertime.
This room has been well used this season having us all at home all day long. With five of us we need an abundance of seating in here and so we decided to add two couches facing each other in here, it will hopefully be a good use of the space.

I also just recently showed off our brand new deck, which we had built this spring. This space is probably our most used space right now, especially in the summer. You can see the whole post about our deck here.
I have really been looking forward to hosting dinners outside, even if it is just for our family right now. We’ve just started to entertain a few friends outdoors, and are hoping to host a larger belated graduation party for our oldest son in late July.
As you can see, I used more pops of blue out here. We have had beautiful weather this last week so our deck has gotten a ton of use.
