Amy– When you did the IKEA bookcase hack, what did you paint those bookcases with — they are laminate. Thanks.
Amy says
We just used regular paint and it worked fine! Off the shelf white if I recall correctly? Thanks, Amy
Dee Walker says
Hi ladies,
i’m Dee Walker and I am a home decor blogger. Interior decor and dogs are my passion. I was on Pinterest and came across the Homegoods /Happy By Design board. I was wondering if you could advise me on joining this board. I’m a Homegoods enthusiast. Half my decor is from their stores! any advice is really appreciated!
Happy Decorating,
Dee Walker

Christy says
So nice to meet you! Dee was my mom’s middle name and is also my daughter’s middle name and we don’t meet too many of them!
We totally understand about HomeGoods; we’re there all the time, too. That board is theirs, however, and we are part of their blog ambassador/Pinterest program. As you can imagine, they get tons of requests to join, but it’s by their invitation only. When they first reached out to us about working with them, it was through Instagram, so one tip is that you might want to tag them on IG whenever you’re sharing a photograph of their items.
Good luck!

I am wanting to do the Our Dark + Moody Library Reveal bookshelf. Love it. My only questions is the feedback from other people who have both the Billy bookshelves from Ikea. They are not saying they are very stable. BUT, I am thinking that it would be after they are secured to the wall and to the base.
Thoughts?
Amy says
Ours are very stable! No issues at all, we did set them down into the frame on the floor which I think helped. They come with brackets you can use to fasten to the wall, so definitely do that if you are concerned. Good luck with your project! Amy

I have tried to use the link for the hobnail goblets in your spring table from Wayfair but it does not connect. Do you have the name of the glasses so I can search for them? I haven’t been able to find them so far. Thanks
Christy says
Hey, Melinda–
It looks like Wayfair is having some site issues right now; try this direct link (it worked for me): https://rstyle.me/n/c2h5bp2kzn
Hope that helps

Christy, my son is a student at Hampden Sydney too. FYI.. I love your dorm decor but honestly buy the cheapest towels, don’t spend extra $ on monograms, he won’t need anything but the bare essentials and will
Probably end up throwing most of it away at the end of the year. (That is, if he is anything like my kid). Coordinating dorm room items are not cool. Hope this tidbit of advice helps.

I am trying to pick out a paint color for our new home and i love your choice of yellow golden paint color assume Glidden? Do you remember the name of it? The picture i saw was during Christmas I believe. Thanks so Much. Pamela
Amy says
Hi Pamela, can you give us a bit more detail as to where you saw the picture? We’ve had so many homes and rooms, that would help us narrow down what color you are looking for.
Thanks,
Amy

I have a pair of bergere chairs that need to be reupholstered. Was wondering how your pearl velvet Bergere chair was holding up and if you still like the fabric. Thanks!
Christy says
Hi, Julie–
It’s holding up great! The fabric is super easy to vacuum and even spot clean. I couldn’t be happier with it. Hope that helps! Christy

I really like your antique white distressed cabinets! Did you paint them yourself? What brand are they? Where did you buy them? I’d like to know anything you can tell me about them. Thank you 🙂

I’m late to the party so sorry if you have already shared! But what is your engineered floor? The picture appears to be an Armstrong product but I can’t read the particulars. Would you mind sharing? Thank you. Btw: beautiful home. Love the holiday decor!

Hi Christy! I’ve been looking at your son’s updated “teen” room. it says that you will post sources later, but I can’t seem to find them posted anywhere. I am redoing my teen son’s room in grey as well. I am really interested in the wide, 2 tone grey stiped knitted pillow on his bed. I would love to know where you sourced that from. Thanks so much! Laura
Christy says
Hey, Laura–
I got that pillow at HomeGoods, but that post was written almost five years ago! Another option would be to search on Etsy where there are plenty of hand-knitted and crocheted pillows available. I hope that helps! Christy

Hi! I was researching Homeright sprayers and came across your blog. In the post where you painted your campaign dresser, you mention that sprayer you link is better than the one you have in the photo. I have the one in the photo and am having some trouble with it spraying evenly. I am wondering if this is user error, or if I need to upgrade to the sprayer you linked. Any advice is appreciated! Also, how many light coats do you typically do to get good coverage? thank you in advance!

Amy, I have been reading through your amazing blogs on your health issues with Lyme disease. You are a living testimony to the power of Jesus Christ sustaining you and bringing you to healing. As a young mother I suffered for years with meniere’s disease. But thankfully God sustained me and healed me. We are stronger and more compassionate now after these tests. We share the victory in Jesus’ Name. God bless you and your family.

Deborah Lynn Granato says
Hey Christi! Hope you’re having a blessed week! I noticed in a post back in February 2018, that you mentioned your mom’s middle name is Dee and so is Your Daughter’s Middle name. My mom’s first name is Dee and one of my twin daughter’s middle name is Dee!!! Just thought I’d share 🙂 regarding Your recent post on redoing your mailbox (which I love!!)….do you by chance sell the “No.” and vinyl numbers?? I know you referred some shops on Etsy but before I look into them i wanted to ask!! looking forward to hearing from you! thank you.
Christy says
Hey, Deborah— so good to hear from you! It’s been too long. First, anybody with the middle name “Dee” has to be a quality person! Second, I appreciate your asking about the mailbox final. I don’t have it in the Etsy shop (I’m actually thinking about shutting it down), but feel free to share the photo with one of the sellers I recommended. I am sure they can make you something similar if that is the style you prefer. Thanks so much for asking, though!
Amy White says
Could you tell me where you got the tufted headboard in your holiday master bedroom? The link does not work! Thanks so much!! I just love that look.
JOANN says
Hello! I just recently came across you guys and am now following along ! I was wondering if you could share your source for the rattan roll up blinds in the breakfast room painted Rhinestone?? Thank you in advance !
Christy says
Joann, I’m so sorry for the delay; this went to spam for some reason. Those blinds are from FUA window coverings and the pattern is called “Copan.” Here’s a link: https://fuawindowcoverings.com/patterns/
I hope that helps–Christy
Jaime Williams says
Hello I love your shelves and am starting on mine in a very similar build. Do you have any more detailed plans?
I am trying to get the plans made to start and want to be more clear on a few items. You are both so inspiring!
Thank you,
Jaime W.
Amy says
Hi! I am sorry I don’t have plans, my Dad just kind of figured it out as he went along. I am sorry not to be more helpful! It isn’t that hard I am sure yours will come out great 🙂 Let us know–Good luck! Amy
Jolie says
Hi Christy! Thanks for the info on the vinyl tile flooring you did. So cute! I’m about to install a clawfoot tub on new sheet vinyl. It looks like your peel and stick held up fine to the weight of the tub. Did your vinyl tile hold up over time? I’m concerned I should put coasters first under my clawfeet before putting the tub in. With your project, it seems coasters might not be necessary? Or maybe they could be added later? Thanks for any insight you can provide.
Christy says
Hi, Jolie–
I’m sorry for the delay in replying. Our comment volume is pretty large.
We moved away from this house about six months after I completed the bathroom remodel (this was in 2020) so I’m afraid I can’t answer your question as to how it held up over time. But, it did fine during the time we were there and I’m sure you could also add them later just by having someone help you lift the tub a bit so you could slide them under.
Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful.Christy

Could you tell me where you got the fox lamps?
Cindy Walz says
Saw your picture of mixed neutrals backsplash posted on microsoft article “34 Chick backsplash ideas for white cabinets and granite countertops” by Sara Lyon
interested in the pattern used for the backsplash, can you share the brand and tile names?
thanks
Cindy
