Today’s post is a bit of a random assortment of fun holiday decor finds and some exciting news. With Halloween around the corner and the holidays coming right after that I feel a bit like my head is starting to spin, in a good way, which makes it the perfect time for a bit of a random Friday post.
Before I get to the holidays, yes … Halloween is coming in quickly! I know some people aren’t trick or treating but my neighborhood does up Halloween BIG time so we are still planning for it. I have enjoyed my fall decorations so much I haven’t put out anything for Halloween yet this year but plan to spiff up our porch this weekend in honor of those that will trick or treat. I ordered these inexpensive banners to hang and plan to get some lights hung, and of course we’ll carve some pumpkins. I imagine our Halloween night will involve a fire pit, neighbors and apple cider martinis in between driving our kids to their various destinations. Our daughter has been invited to an outdoor movie night (costumes required) which is a great way for kids to have some sort of celebration. Last year I was much more inspired for Halloween, you can see my tablescape HERE.
I am already very much in the holiday mode, I admit I am feeling pretty excited about Christmas this year. I think it’s the idea of having something fun to celebrate and I am also looking forward having my family together again since this is our first year with one away at college. I rounded up my favorite (early) decor finds for you below. I have spent quite a bit of time this last week or two finalizing my holiday decor plan as I have to get photos done for the magazine I contribute to in early November, so my halls will begin being decked next week!
Here are some of the best deals (and my favorite finds) I have found, grab them while they are in stock!
This $30 Flocked Tree–Christy and I both have this tree and we typically decorate it in our daughters’ rooms, these also go fast but for the price you can’t beat it! (See it here and here)
This Flocked tree is just $99 but it is 7.5′ tall and already lit so this is a great price. Again, these will go fast but if you have wanted a flocked tree or just want to add an additional tree this one would be perfect.
A Realistic Looking (Faux) Tree–I am seriously considering adding this tree to my collection, I really like this airy and natural look. One of the decor themes I will be offering (still secret) would look perfect displayed on this tree so I might have to get just one more tree this year.
Snowflake Pillows–I ordered these pillow cases and was so happy with them, they are pretty with a stitched, raised snowflake design. They will coordinate with any other color you decide to use in your decor and are just $15 for the set.
Woven Tree Collar–this was one item I wanted to add in our decor this year and I have looked at these from tons of retailers, for the price this was the best deal (and shipping is free). It also comes in white.
Sugar Paper Wrapping–I have a true weakness for this collection when it hits at Target each year, I always add new boxes as they are both practical for decorating and for holding gifts plus the boxes can be reused year after year. This year’s colors are mostly reds and light blues (which happen to be two colors that I plan to use this holiday!)
“The Bells” –these are a really popular decor item each year and they get harder to find as the season gets closer. These are beautiful on a door over a wreath or at the end of a stairwell, just add some ribbon and this is a classic decoration you’ll use for years to come.
Holiday Garland—I purchased this mercury glass garland for much more $$ at the Lucketts Holiday Market several years ago. This adds that ‘family heirloom’ sparkle to any doorway, mantel or even displayed along a table mixed with a garland. This is one of my favorite Christmas decorations to bring out year after year.
I mentioned this in our Sunday newsletter but I always look forward to the Hearth and Home Holiday line at Target (by Joanna Gaines) and this year has so many cute items. I especially love the Letters to Santa box and this Merry & Bright sign.
That brings me to the BIG news I decided I’d go ahead and share today…on a bit of a trial basis this year I’m excited to tell you all that I’ll be opening a ‘Holiday Shop’ online during the month of November. I spend so much time searching for truly beautiful and unique holiday decorations to showcase in my home, I wanted to be able to offer them to you all too.
The products will be available online in mid-November (in limited quantities); there will be much more detail to come over the next few weeks. Most of the inventory I selected has recently arrived and I have to say I am thrilled with it all. I’ll be offering items in three decor themes, all showcased in my home. I will have items from each color collection for sale to make it easy to recreate the same look. That’s about all I can say now, except that I am hopeful that these pieces will become treasured parts of your holiday decor collections.
Finally–the Holiday scents are now available at Grove.co, I just placed my order! I love the Peppermint line, if you have to clean you might as well enjoy the scent right? I also have been ordering hand sanitizer and cleaning wipes (they typically have the 7th Generation ones in stock) from here which is so convenient.
