Today I am privileged to join Marty from A Stroll Thru Life and 30 other bloggers for The Christmas Tour of Homes. I already shared most of the first level of our new home in our Holiday Home Tour last week, but today wanted to show off our master bedroom and my daughter’s room decorated for the holidays. Welcome to those of you coming over from Life, Love Larson! If you are new here, I co-blog with my former college roommate Christy and you can read all about us HERE.
This is the first time I have ever put holiday decor in our room. There seems to be a trend this year of putting Christmas trees in bedrooms, but I didn’t quite go that far. I think I might try it next year, I can see the appeal of sleeping next to twinkle lights during long, dark winter nights.
Since our bedding is white, it is pretty much the easiest thing to add seasonal touches. I swapped our pillows out for these Alpine Toile pillow shamsas a nod to my outdoor loving husband. He’d truly prefer our house look like a log cabin/hunting lodge all year long, but this is about as far into that style as I can go 🙂 then I brought in a fur pillow, because fur is always a good thing, right?

I added a boxwood garland over the headboard and hung my Merry Christmas Sign over our bed. I know we’re really the only people who will get to enjoy this decor but it makes the room feel festive and Christmas-y. I also feel like this space is a refuge from the craziness of the holiday season, so I didn’t mind putting a few minutes into making it feel more special even if it’s just for us.
I have also made a few more updates in here that aren’t related to the holidays recently. I swapped out the table next to my bed for this mirrored cabinet from HomeGoods. The gray velvet bench was also a very fortunate HomeGoods find this Fall.
My bedroom wasn’t the only space that got spruced up for the holidays. I also added a tree in my daughter’s room. You may remember that I have been working on updating her room this fall. I started it during the One Room Challenge (and ran a wee bit past the deadline), but it is all finished now. I’ll follow up with a full post about the decor soon but you can see how it all came together below.
Of course, we added a Christmas tree, just this $35 flocked tree that Christy also has in her daughter’s room, it is an easy holiday touch for a ten-year-old’s room. Her new headboard is available here, it’s covered in white velvet and we are so happy with it.
We decorated her tree with pink and pale blue ornaments along with the special ones she’s collected over the years, most are themed around her annual participation in The Nutcracker–’tis the season!
I’ll admit the fairy lights over the bed are not seasonal, she keeps those up all year long. They do add a fun touch. Her bedding is sold out but a very similar one from the same line is HERE.
If you remember from my ORC post, she selected the “Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful” sign herself at Hobby Lobby and it sets the tone for her room. I think it’s the perfect motto for a girl who is soon to be on the verge of teenage years. Other room sources below:

Love those red pillow shames and the new bench at the foot of the bed looks perfect. Your daughters room turned out perfect for a 10 year old. Love her sign, what a perfect motto and her tree is fabulous. I love her style. Thanks so much for joining the tours, your new home is stunning and coming together beautifully.
