Hi! Did everyone have a very Happy Halloween? All of our kids had plans or parties, so my husband and I actually wound up having an impromptu date night. It was really fun, though I did miss the festivities just a little. There is always next year, right?
Before I get to the tree sale, I finally have a One Room Challenge update for you all. It has been slow going, I have made enough excuses so I won’t start that again, but fortunately we made some major progress over the last week or two. She really loves how it is coming along and that is what matters. She is turning ten shortly (I can’t quite believe it) so this room will definitely be age appropriate and hopefully carry her into her teen years.
Here is a before of the room while it was still painted our builder color which was a very light gray. I bought her that chandelier when she was a baby, I never hung it in our last home because there wasn’t a junction box in the ceiling of her room, but it is back now. She doesn’t love it, but I still do!
The biggest change was the paint color, after searching through tons of paint samples we took a chance on a new paint color–Behr’s Shimmering Pool–it was her pick. It’s a little more green than blue, but she absolutely loves it. It’s a great color for a girl’s room, I am not sure I’d love it in other spaces in my house though.
This artwork below came from Hobby Lobby and was our starting point for the room. She picked it out and of all the things she could hang on her wall, I love the messaging of this quote. There will be more decor along with it on this wall, but I’ll show that off once the room is done.
We hung her curtains (from HomeGoods) along with another favorite piece of art, it also came from Hobby Lobby.
I can’t show you much else, since all the decor needs to arrive and be put in place. I am not sure her bed will be here in time to make the reveal deadline of next Thursday, but we’ll do our best!
It is November 1st and if you weren’t aware, it is basically the holiday season now on social media (Instagram exploded this morning with Christmas trees!). I am fine with that, as I am in favor of decorating early so you can enjoy the season to the fullest. I wanted to be sure to mention that my flocked Christmas tree just went on 35% off sale. We’ve had ours for 3 years and it is going strong, while it does drop flocking when you set it up, it is the best price I found for a lighted tree and personally, I think it’s really pretty 🙂
I’ll be back with a post about all the best flocked trees next week, but if you have been hoping to buy one I wanted to share this one before they sell out. It comes with free shipping too!
Thanks for stopping by!
