I am so excited to jump into this fall’s One Room Challenge! Along with a whole bunch of other bloggers, I’ll be taking on the project of making over a room in our home over the next six weeks and sharing the process. Of course, I will hopefully share the spectacular end result with you in early November ?. I have done two other ORCs, and at this point, it always seems like this is plenty of time to decorate a room, but in reality, this will be the fastest six weeks ever.
Rug | Bed | Chair | Desk | Wall Flowers | Chandelier
It was an easy choice to select my daughter’s room, she’s been letting me know in her not very subtle way that she wanted her new room decorated next. We’ve spent plenty of time since we moved into this house early this summer pouring over Pinterest for ideas. She’s about to turn ten so her previous room decor was seeming a little too young for her, you can see her two previous rooms below {you can click the photo to read the post on the room}.
So after much debate between an “Ocean” theme and a “Paris” theme, in the end, we’re doing neither. She suddenly decided on “no theme” and just said that she wants aqua walls and a canopy bed with touches of pink and gold. Pretty much a girl after my own heart!
So here is the design board I came up with to kick this project off. She came home from school and said “I love it… but I don’t like the rug”. I have a plan B for that, which she has already approved. I have a few more tricks up my sleeve that I’ll save for the big reveal just to be sure keep it interesting, so wish us luck. You can check back each Thursday for the next five weeks to see what we’ve been up to, and if all goes well she’ll have her new decor well before November 5th when the challenge wraps up.
