Today I am resharing this post with sources for budget primary bedroom decor. Over the years I have added things here and there to our bedroom, but none of them have been expensive. It is easy to overlook this space in favor of the more public spaces in our homes but at the end of the day it is nice to have a private place to retreat to. I have updated the room sources with items in stock and at current prices. Things are a bit more expensive now but still I don’t consider any of these items to be costly.
I still love this bedding and was happy to see it was still in stock though unfortunately, the Medallion duvet is not on sale right now. The nailhead headboard is now $301 and I purchased it for staging purposes when we were selling our lst home but really, the gray fabric is so perfect we keep using it. It is still a great price for this piece, it also makes sitting in bed much more comfortable than leaning up against a wall.
As far as the other sources in the room, my nightstand was a Homegoods find, but some other inexpensive mirrored options I like are here and here. I like the touch of feminine/glam that mirrored furniture adds and find that the finish helps reflects the light within the space.
The biggest impact in the room, in my opinion, comes from the new dark gray velvet drapes. I wrote all about them in this post, but the dark velvet was a surprise hit and I think adds a bit of coziness and drama. They really polished everything off perfectly and they are excellent quality for the price plus they come in a ton of colors here.
I had purchased the gray rug to tide us over in our rental while we waited on this home to be finished, it was inexpensive and I really liked the pretty, rich pattern. It is currently sold out but this one is similar. Originally I had it in our family room but I moved it up here because the ends were starting to curl up a bit from all the traffic down there. Up here, under the bed, it is just fine and adds interest to the room.
This bench came from HomeGoods, originally I had a gray velvet bench in here (sadly it’s sold out) but it is currently in our downstairs hallway. This ivory bench (with storage too) is lovely or you can find a gray velvet bench for less than $150 here. I also love this french inspired bench (we have this but use it in our dining room), it is pretty at the end of a bed too.
Any small mirror would look pretty over the bed, you can also do an inexpensive framed set of botanicals if you don’t like the idea of a mirror. For a final touch, throw pillows on the bed are inexpensive and can tie the room together nicely. You can find velvet pillows here, and of course they always have a great selection here.
While the pieces are slightly higher in cost now than when I initially put this room together a few years back, they are still reasonable for a bedroom. Hopefully this post is helpful in providing some options to finish your spaces off within a budget.
