It is so nice to be able to welcome guests back into our home this year. It just wasn’t the same last summer, was it? I recently gave our guest room a quick refresh with the help of Walmart Home, just in time to have friends come and stay at the end of the summer.

Since our future guests include Christy and her family later next month, I had her in mind when I spiffed up our guest room! We are well known for our similar taste, so it was easy to pick things that I loved in my favorite blue and white tones. Walmart Home has a great selection of affordable items for any home space but it was especially easy to add new bedding, art and accessories to this room to make it more welcoming for our friends and family when they come and stay.

I think the bedding from Lush Decor is definitely the star of the show. One thing that is really nice about this set (other than how soft it is) is that it is long enough that you don’t also need a bedskirt with it. It covers to the floor, though I will warn you the wrinkles are part of the look (I tried to no avail to steam them out, then decided they worked). The bedding set comes with this bedspread and two pillow shams, it is a great quality for the price.

Another favorite find was these chambray blue accent pillows, which are just $12 each. These worked perfectly with the coastal vibe we’ve always had in this room, though they also come in a pretty gray and a cheerful yellow too. I mixed them in with some larger affordable Euro pillows (mine are currently on backorder but these are also fun) and a pretty ecru velvet pillow (only $15!) that has always been one of my favorites. The lattice pillow is sold out in this size but this one is similar as is this one.

We have had the affordable leaning shelf for years (I painted ours black), it holds these great storage bins which are filled with extra towels and bedding. I also filled the shelves with some favorite books and this cute little llama vase. Every room needs a whimisical touch, don’t you think?

The llama vase came from the Walmart’s brand new “Wow + Now” Section which is full of fun, affordable finds. It is available in limited stores but you can shop the ever-changing decor in the collections HERE. I found so many cute and inexpensive decor items in this section to make the room a little more fun, including the mini letter board which is perfect for displaying the wifi password and welcoming our guests. Be sure to shop this section for back to school and dorm decor essentials. Also, check back often as the items are limited time and always changing!

I also scored this cute, decorative floral diffuser in the Wow + Now section. Even when not in use it looks beautiful sitting beside the bed.

I purchased this set of whitewashed frames to hang above the bed from Walmart, and added printable florals ordered online for a quick way to finish off the decor in the room. The frames come in both a set of three and of six and are an affordable way to fill a wall with artwork.

Finally, I added this collapsable basket (I love the cute ball fringe!) and filled it with new guest towels in a pretty, dusty blue color. That way our guests will be easily able to find towels to use when they need them, and the basket keeps them neatly out of the way.

I think the space looks so much better now, and it was easy to fix it all up with the help of Walmart. For a full look at the space, check out the video of the room below. My daughter made this video, something she really enjoys doing, don’t you think she did a great job? 🙂

Thank you to Walmart for sponsoring this post, as always all opinions are my own.
