I’m a bit sad that this is the last day of our holiday home tour; there’s been so much gorgeousness to enjoy this week! If you’re visiting today from Christy at Our Southern Home, welcome to 11 Magnolia Lane! We’ve been hosting this tour for years along with Jenny from Evolution of Style, and it’s always one of the highlights of my year.
Don’t you love Christy’s traditional Southern style? It’s hard to improve on classic Christmas decor, in my opinion.
Today we’re all sharing bedrooms, so you’ll see some master bedrooms and I’m sure a few kids’ and guest bedrooms. I was torn on whether to share my master bedroom since I’ve never featured it online (we just moved to this house in July so I’m still getting settled), but in the end I decided to share my teenage daughter’s bedroom because I love it so much. She’s sixteen and other than a few whimsical touches I think her room is actually pretty sophisticated.
Let’s peek in from the upstairs hallway:

Our Magnolia Cottage is over 100 years old and full of quirks and charm; her room is actually smaller in this house than in any of our past seven houses, but she makes it work!
Annabelle has two hobbies that take pretty much all of her non-school time–books and ballet–so you’ll see lots of both in her room. She performs in The Nutcracker during November and December so it only makes sense to decorate her tree with a Nutcracker theme.
The flocked tree was only $35 shipped, believe it or not (I linked to it below in the sources). For the tree skirt, I layered a few dozen pairs of her dead pointe shoes on top of a practice tutu. Honestly, I’m glad to have a use for them at least once a year!
The ornaments are one that’s she’s collected over time and we try to buy one each year that corresponds to her roles.
I wrote a post last year with many of the ornament sources and you can read it here.
The real costume doesn’t always match the ornament exactly but the search is part of the fun!

If you remember her vintage Vogue cover gallery wall from the last house, we had to cut the size down from 12 to 9 covers because of the smaller distance between the windows. I linked to similar ones below in my sources and they’re just gold frames from the dollar store. Easy!
I printed and laminated these advent calendar cards from Dotty Wren Studios years ago and she clips one onto the garland on her headboard every night:
Rescue kitty Brontë likes to be front and center of all photo shoots, thank you very much, plus Annabelle’s room gets great sun during the day for naps.
Did you catch those quirky/creepy ceramic cats on the floor to the right of her bed? She refuses to part with them (their names are Cletus and Desdemona by the way) and they give me a heart attack every time I walk into her room. Also, I know I still need to steam her drapes but literally just got them hung up last week–and last week was Thanksgiving, one of our Christmas parties, and six Nutcracker performances, so they never had a prayer. Maybe next week…
Here are her bookshelves; I told you books are her thing. She interns at our local bookstore so she usually has stacks and stacks on the floor, too. I used to try to style her bookshelves but honestly that just caused her frustration since she has them organized by author and genre and couldn’t care less about whether they look magazine-perfect or not. So now I tidy a bit before photos but figure I’ll just show you real life since that’s what we’re living here, after all!
I promise we only have one cat–she just manages to get in all the pictures.
When her room’s neat 😉 , there’s no more peaceful place in our house…
..and it’s even better at night:
As promised, here are my sources. We have a lot of vintage items in our house so if I couldn’t like to the exact item I found something similar:

Her bedroom is amazing. I love her tree and all the wonderful ornaments that reflect her ballet career. It was so nice to see a picture of her and her partner too, she is stunning. Thanks so much for all the tours this week, they have all been so wonderful and I have really enjoyed each one.

So glad you could tour with us again this year, Marty! I thought it would be nice to share a picture of her since we always see people’s rooms but not necessarily who they are. Glad you enjoyed it!
