As we head into these last few days before Christmas, I thought I’d show you my good friend Danielle’s house, because it is just darling!
Danielle and her family live in downtown Southern Pines, NC, in a sweet old three-bedroom, two-bath home. They are within walking distance of all the fun that downtown Southern Pines has to offer (see more on that here, here and here).
Danielle has a fabulous sense of style, as well as wonderful traditional taste. Her home is full of family heirlooms, but she’s also a flea market/thrift shop/auction shopper like I am. She’s created a cozy, comfortable home that I love visiting.
Her home is so welcoming, and she’s paid attention to every small detail.
The front door opens to the living room on the left and the dining room on the right. The dining room features the original painted paneling:
Can you tell that she loves blue and white just as much as I do? It’s hiding everywhere if you look closely!
If you’re familiar with the Southern Pines and Pinehurst area, then you know that we’re all about horses and golf around here. Seriously. So you’ll also see lots of equestrian touches throughout the house.
Danielle’s husband loves to hunt and be outdoors, so you’ll also see that theme woven through her decor.
I love how there are small festive touches everywhere you look:
The Staffordshire dogs are kind of my favorite things in the entire house!
Their home is compact, but just the right size for a family of three, and every inch is thoughtfully laid out.
The bunny-themed guest room is one of my favorite rooms in the house.
Danielle carries the holiday cheer into the kitchen:
Amy and I tend to decorate in neutrals, so it’s a real treat to share a beautiful, traditionally decorated home that’s curated so thoughtfully. Thanks so much for sharing with us, Danielle!

I just paid $13 for a magazine called beautiful southern homes, that had pretty much no southern style in it. Should have waited for this post. It’s just beautiful.

Just got on this spot while browsing and I love it especially the home tour of Danielle ‘s home. I have had a rough last several years medically (a heart transplant 14 months ago) but now I feel ready to begin decorating my house again.. I love your videos and hope I can remember how to back on your site. I have made a lot of decorating mistakes but I blame that on being so sick (haha)!
Hopefully, I can make it to your shop as I love in South Carolina.

Thanks so much for your comment, Faye, and I’m glad to hear that you’re feeling better. My cousin had a heart transplant at the Cleveland Clinic 12 years ago and I still remember that time like it was yesterday. She just turned 50 and is doing great, so there is a light at the end of the tunnel!
