Welcome to our final holiday home tour of 2017! My friends Danielle and Ashly have shared their homes with us for the second year in a row, and they are both so talented. You are in for a treat today!
Ashly’s tour this year is {here} and last year is {here}, and Danielle’s tour from last year is {here}.
Danielle’s home is a sweet little cottage in downtown Southern Pines; we’ve timed it and we live a minute and forty seconds away from each other (next door would be better, but I won’t complain!).
She decorates in traditional Southern style, with lots of red and green.
Her love of horses and all things equestrian is reflected throughout her decor:
The front door opens right into the living room. Danielle also loves all things antique and thrifted, although her style is a bit more formal than mine (those gold frames!!).
Formal doesn’t mean stuffy in her home, though; it’s so cozy and inviting.
Can you find the Power Ranger under the tree? Danielle’s son, Paul, said the reds and greens fit right in, and I think he’s right. 🙂
All of the ornaments are hunting/riding themed; even Santa is wearing riding boots!
The dining room is ready for its big moment:
And the bar cart is stocked for cocktail hour:
Moving into the kitchen, new this year is the antique buffet Danielle has repurposed as an island. Do you see where she hides the dog’s food and water bowls?
The den is on the back of the kitchen, and this is where their “everything” tree is, along with lots of warm plaids.
The boot on the back door is the perfect touch!
They have a big deck and patio area off the den and the back of the house, which is perfect for entertaining during the warmer months of the year.
The home has three bedrooms, and the guest room overlooks the back deck.
The bunny theme throughout the room is subtle, but sweet.
The powder room is decorated in toile and chinoiserie:
Paul’s room is one of my favorite boys’ rooms; Danielle layers colors and patterns like a pro.
Any guesses as to what color their lab is?
I hope you all have enjoyed visiting Danielle’s home–I know that photographing it is always one of the high points of my season!

Thanks so much, Meredith! Yes, she does a simply amazing job. Her home is small but doesn’t feel at all cluttered because she’s so good at arranging things in a pleasing way.
