Happy Monday! Suddenly we are in full blown fall here in Virginia, the weather turned cooler this weekend and ALL the pumpkins and mums came out! No doubt we’ll get another hot spell before it ends, but it does put you in the mood for ALL things fall.
Today I thought I’d just share some favorite fall inspiration with you all, each year there seems to be more beautiful color combinations, pumpkin-laden porches and delicious recipes shared on the internet. If you aren’t already in the fall frame of mind, it all certainly helps to inspire!
First off, if you missed it last week I shared my Fall Home Tour here. There were also 25+ other bloggers sharing their fall homes, so you can see them all linked up in that same post. There were so many pretty rooms shared, all the tours were full of fall decorating ideas.
It is always fun to look back and see our previous fall tours, two years ago I used lots of blues in my decorating. It is untraditional but when mixed with textures and lots of warm brass I felt like it worked nicely for fall. Last year, Christy went with the also a bit untraditional teal in her home tour with a very pretty result.
I received several comments on the plaid pillows shown below, and I agree that the plaid is so pretty for fall. The ones I have are unfortunately already sold out, but this pair here is very similar and just $12!
One thing that is always in demand at this time of year is the pretty velvet pumpkins with real stems, I can never resist them. While you can find them in specialty stores, one great resource to find the handmade ones is on ETSY. There are all sizes, colors and prices if you need some new ones.
We have shared plenty of our favorite fall recipes each year, though hands down my very favorite is always the Apple Cider Martini. For years this ranked as one of our most popular posts because it is that good; it is perfect for a girls’ night, by the fire pit or I even offer them before Thanksgiving dinner (not to get too ahead here!). You can find the recipe here.
Even though I spent part of Saturday purging my closet and getting organized (and swapping out my hangers for these pretty pink velvet ones) not to mention donating a large pile of things I hadn’t worn, I couldn’t resist this leopard sweater. I love the idea of pairing this fun pattern with a denim shirt and white jeans, an easy but still polished look perfect for fall.
I actually came across the sweater above when I was checking to see if the sweater/jacket I have been eying (below) for awhile was in stock, and yes it is! This looks so cozy to me, and everything is on sale for 60% off right now too.
Also, for those of you with a full-year planner that will need to be restocked soon, I wanted to share I have discovered a new favorite yearly planner. For many years I have used The Day Designer to stay on top of all our work and family activities. That was originally created by Whitney English, who now has a new line of 2021 planners that just launched in the prettiest colors. She sent me several of the week-on-a-page editions to preview (I already shared them on Instagram) and I had a hard time picking my favorite! You can see her new line here, and get $5 off if you go through this referral link.
Ok my favorite might be the antelope but I had to show you the blue floral pattern inside the light blue one, isn’t it pretty?
I wanted to leave you with some pretty fall porches that I saw this week from other blog friends, just for inspiration purposes. I’ll start with this one from the talented Karianne at Thistlewood Farms, how perfect is her fall display? I love how she used non-traditional colors but it still feels so fall like and pretty!
The front porch below from Kris at Driven by Decor made me rethink my stand on traditional fall colors like orange and burgundy, she makes them work beautifully together, don’t you think?
I hope these ideas brightened up your Monday and that you all have a great week ahead, thanks for stopping by!

Great fall post, Amy. So many gorgeous decorating ideas. Your outdoor table is the prettiest I’ve seen. Also, I bought the two sweaters you featured. Nice prices too. I am excited to wear them as soon as the weather chills down. Thanks!
