It turned November 1st and it seemed like all the internet turned to all things holiday! We are used to decorating ahead anyway, but it seems this year everyone else is doing it too. Not to rush Thanksgiving of course, but we actually like have a decorated tree nearby during our meal, but whatever works for you!
I love holiday decorating, and I enjoy getting it done in November so that in December I can have time to actually enjoy the other holiday tasks–like wrapping gifts or baking cookies. Once I started decorating early, I found that I was less stressed in December so I prefer it that way. I plan to start decorating next week sometime but I have spent some time getting ready, picking out a color scheme so I am definitely looking forward to starting. Today I thought I’d share some favorite decor I have found and share a bit about the items that we decorate with year after year.
Christy and I both have this inexpensive flocked tree from Walmart, its just $30 (can you believe it?) and while yes, it comes unlit you just can’t beat that deal. I have had mine for several years and its going strong, you can also get the lit version here for less than $70. We have both used this tree in our daughters’ rooms, I have also used it in my office.
For our main tree, I have a 9′ King of Christmas flocked tree (the “Prince”). The quality for the price for these trees is unbelievable. I did get ours unlit (thinking it would give me more control over the lights) but I have to admit it saves a lot of time if you purchase one already lit. Here is a look back at the same tree over three years (and three different holiday color schemes!). FYI–you can get a 7′ flocked tree there for less than $200!
Christy has a beautiful, Balsam Hill tree, she pairs it with their royal blue decor, you can see more here.
Another tree I acquired (via a collaboration on Instagram) was this narrow 6′ flocked tree. What I like about it is that it works perfectly in our rather long hallway and also that our guests are greeted by a tree as soon as they enter our home, which feels festive. This year I am thinking I will group several narrow trees together in this area but keep the neutral color scheme so it doesn’t feel too busy.
A few other favorite decor pieces I wanted to share (while they are still in stock!), I love this mercury glass garland, I use it different places each year. It’s in stock currently HERE.
I also love this boxwood garland (here) some years I have used it on our staircase instead of in our bedroom. The toile pillowcases are several years old but still available here, I love using them year after year.
Finally, before I wrap this post up I noticed these pretty magnolia wreaths and garlands on sale for 50% off, such a good deal! I thought it was worth sharing.
There are more holiday decor favorites in this post here, happy decorating!
