I am back today with a few more pictures of holiday decor in our home. I shared our living room and Christmas tree last week, you can see that here.
Our kitchen and family room are connected, so today this is a look in the other direction to our kitchen and our breakfast room, which we recently updated. We’re almost there, the new cabinets on the back of the breakfast room are installed (we still need to add the molding to the tops of the cabinets) though I plan to add some open shelves in between the two glass cabinets, along with trim throughout this space.
My red holiday decor found a home here in this space, the all white kitchen definitely called for some color. The red and white dishes from HomeGoods look perfect in the new glass upper cabinets. These are from IKEA and these were an affordable way to get the look I wanted, I am so happy with how they turned out.
I shared these boxwood wreaths in this holiday decor post.
Here is a wide-view of the space, because it’s the holiday season I ran out of light getting my decor finished so these are taken with the lights on, which explains the shadows. Unfortunately our home doesn’t have a lot of natural light in this space, which makes getting accurate photographs difficult.
The sign came from Oh Sweet Skye (unfortunately now out of business), after the holidays I plan to add open shelves and some sconce lighting on that wall but for now, it’s a fun seasonal touch. We added the lower cabinets and the wine fridge this fall and the extra storage has been so nice. I am so happy with how it all came out. Those of you with an eye for detail will notice that we also are awaiting on the moldings to be completed, another “after the holidays” project!
Here is a quick look at this cabinet I refinished last year, I took apart a mercury glass garland so I could display the ornaments in a bowl. The star ornament came from the Lucketts Holiday Market this year.
I still have some things to add to the kitchen, the white counters and cabinets call for color especially during this season. I ordered this gold wreath to hang over the range, but it hasn’t arrived yet.
You can see a peek of our mudroom, last year I decorated that space too. I am not sure I’ll get to it this year, but it was fun to do. (You can see it here).
I did switch out our coffee mugs for the holidays and added my fun “Elf” sign from Lindsay Letters. Our family loves that movie, so the sign always makes me smile.
I attached wreaths to the back of our barstools (since they face the entrance to the room) with some green and white striped ribbon, I found it at Lucketts, but am pretty sure this is the same ribbon.
This year it seems like our decor is in a continual state of ‘almost done’ but that is ok, some seasons are like that. I am trying to enjoy the process as much as I can, it goes quickly!
Just a reminder if you are still shopping, our holiday gift guides are all available here!
