Happy Sunday and happy Mother’s Day to all of you moms out there. I hope you all get completely spoiled today!
The personalized art I had made for my mom a few years ago, read more here.
It has been a while since I have put together a round-up post so today I thought I’d do just that. A post full of things that aren’t necessarily worthy of their own post, but need a mention.

My Mom is traveling this year so we can’t celebrate together in person, but you can read more about her in this post I shared last year about her surprise birthday party. Since my birthday is always a day or two before Mother’s Day it’s a non-event for me, my husband always looks at me like “You, again?” but that is ok since he always does a great job for my birthday 😉.
I have read some really good books lately and I thought it would be fun to pass along some reading ideas just in time for summer. We traveled for spring break and I spent a few days relaxing by the pool with a book, which is pretty much my favorite thing to do. I have loved everything I have read by Beatriz Williams and this book, The Summer Wives, did not disappoint.
I also loved the trilogy she wrote of Tiny Little Thing, The Secret Life of Violet Grant and Along the Infinite Sea , I read those a summer or two ago and thought they were the perfect beach reads. If you want a lower commitment her book A Hundred Summers (the first one of hers I read) is just $2 on Kindle right now and not part of a series.
If you like reading current ‘chick lit’ fiction, here is another series I have just loved. The third book just came out, I have been waiting for it, and am already halfway through it. Kristen Woodson Harvey’s Slightly South of Simple is the first book in the Peachtree Bluff series, an ongoing story of a mother and her three daughters and I think the character development in all the books has been so good. I am hoping the series doesn’t end with the third book! The second book is The Secret to Southern Charm and the third, that was just released, is The Southern Side of Paradise.
Moving on to shopping–I ordered this J. Crew dress the other day for graduations and other summer events, it comes in three colors (white, navy and the light blue which I bought) and it’s on sale. It says to size down FYI, I don’t have it in hand yet but think it’s a great easy, breezy summer dress.
I stopped into Loft the other day because I needed a few dressier summer blouses and they had these shirts on sale (along with everything else for 40% off with the code LOVEMOM). I bought this one below. They have tons of blouses for just $30 right now.
Finally, here’s an inspirational thought for your Sunday, I love this quote. We’re heading into one of our busiest weeks of the year (and the last two haven’t exactly been quiet–thank you May!), I had to stop myself the other day and remind myself how good ALL this stuff is. I am working on enjoying all the small moments happening these days and not just focusing on getting through to the next big event.
Have a wonderful Sunday!
XO,
