Custom Art for Mother’s Day {My Best Gift Ever!}

*Before I start this post…if you are my Mother stop reading NOW! For those sweet friends of my Mom’s who visit regularly {?} I am swearing you to secrecy so I can surprise her with this on Mother’s Day!*

Though the wonder of the internet we encountered the art of Lacee Swan, so when we received an email about her custom art I tucked the idea away, knowing someday a print like this would make the best Mother’s Day gift ever. This year I wanted to give my sweet mom something really special, so I reached out to Lacee to create a custom art print to surprise her with.

 

 

Lacee took our photo and with her own artistic flair turned in into a keepsake print that I hope my Mom will adore for years to come. This photo was taken two years ago at my daughter’s first dance recital and while she has grown up a bit since then, I love that in the artwork my Mother and I are completely ‘ageless’ even if we aren’t in real life :)! We don’t often get photos of the three of us, so this has long been one of my favorites of us all together.

 

 

I have shared about my wonderful Mom before {her house is here, and her family room here}. This year,  in particular, she has been a tireless source of support and wisdom during some very challenging times so I knew I wanted to give her something truly special for Mother’s Day.

 

 

 

Lacee is not only talented but she was such a joy to work with. She made it a point to ask about different outfit/expressions and confirm all the details to ensure that the final art was just right. She even sent me a pencil sketch and a draft before she created the final art so I could be sure that she captured us perfectly. All of this happened in just a few days time and before I knew it the art print arrived at my door.

Our print captures the memory of such a happy day, and now as we continue to grow from this time in our lives we have this sweet memory captured by a talented artist. I love how whimsical and fun it is! I hope my mom likes it as much as I do, I am printing one so I have we have one for our home too, of course!

I absolutely love seeing talented women turn their artistic dreams into a business. I can think of so many occasions one of Lacee’s prints would be perfect for {some other people close to me might be getting one the future hint, hint}. Her engagement/save the date/couples sketches caught my attention for those of you in that stage of life {see below, how cute!} but mother/daughter, graduation, wedding, birthday–her art is the perfect way to capture a special moment in time.
