Every year I like to make a homemade gift to share with friends. In years past, I’ve canned salsa, made my own limoncello, and turned out batches of homemade peppermint bark. This year, I made bourbon bacon salt and–YUM!
This was an easy recipe. I made two batches one weekend afternoon and whipped up some labels because, as we all know, presentation is important!
Here’s how they turned out:
You can make one of these easy recipes:
Three Olives Branch | Platings and Pairings | Yankee Kitchen Ninja |
I kind of combined the Three Olives Branch and Plating and Pairings recipes, and I basted my bacon with bourbon before and during the cooking process. It’s not rocket surgery, as my kids like to say. Bacon, kosher salt, bourbon, and a little cracked pepper.
The jars are a smaller size than the ones that I use for my homemade mustard recipe (you can see that + the tags I created for that homemade gift HERE). A little salt goes a long way, so these 1.5 oz jars are perfect.
Here are all my sources: Labels | Jars | Baker’s Twine
The PDF file for the tags is {HERE} and is perfectly sized for the Avery labels I sourced above. They’re two sided, so just flip them over and print on both sides so you’ll have printing on the front and the gray stripes on the back.
These are the perfect small gift for neighbors and they’re also a great host/hostess gift.
If you have any go-to edible homemade gifts, I’d love to hear them in the comments.
Thanks for stopping by~
