If you’ve followed us for any length of time, then you know that Amy and I are both pet moms. She has two labs and I have a rescued golden retriever and a kitty, and while we both complain that the vacuuming is a constant, we wouldn’t have it any other way!
Our MCC house is mostly hardwoods with small patches of berber carpet on the stairs and master sitting area, but we have area rugs throughout the house. My daughter’s room is one of my biggest trouble spots because it’s where Harley, our golden, spends most of his day (morning, noon, and night) sleeping…
This is also his special spot to hide with a treat, so I constantly need to clean up unknown stains from the rug.
Even before we partnered with the folks at Spot Shot®, I used their products faithfully because there really is nothing better to get tough pet stains off of carpet and rugs.
If you’re choosy about the cleaning products that you use around your children and pets, then here’s what you need to know about Spot Shot® Pet Instant Carpet Stain and Odor Eliminator:
- Non-Toxic
- Certified Biodegradable by Scientific Certification Systems
- No Phosphates
- No Volatile Organic Compounds
- Recyclable Packaging, made with at least 33% recycled steel content
- Not tested on animals

I keep a can of Spot Shot Pet in the hall closet right outside of Annabelle’s room with a stack of cleaning cloths; here’s the process that I repeat at least once a week:
Shake the can and spray the stain. For old stains, I let it sit for about a minute.
Then I blot with a clean cloth (if it doesn’t remove the stain entirely, just repeat).
The final step is to rinse with a bit of water to remove any cleaner residue and blot dry.
My daughter’s rug is about five years old and has seen some hard living, but thanks to Spot Shot it still looks great!

I will need to give this spot shot a try. I’ve usually gone with a professional carpet cleaner to get rid of pet stains, but it’d be nice to have something quick and handy for when I can’t wait for someone else to come clean.
