This is always the time of year where I like to make a few changes around the house. Once the holiday decorations are put away and I’ve had a chance to get through my annual January purging and organizing, I turn my attention to “fluffing” the house. I don’t think I’m the only one, either!
Amy and I have decided to start a new series called “Budget Design,” where we pull from our favorite online decorating sources and create a ready-made design board for those of you who want to update a room on a limited budget. Obviously you can pick and choose your elements, but our goal is to create a total package for you. Since I’ve been thinking about ways to update my own bedroom lately, today I’m sharing a master bedroom in soft neutrals:
Yes, you read that right. You can buy everything on this board–and that includes TWO of the nightstands and TWO of the lamps–for under $1000! I think that’s pretty awesome if I do say so myself. Full disclosure: I don’t personally own any of these items but I chose ones that got good reviews from other shoppers.
The bedding is gray (but it also looks beautiful in white) and I priced the package using 6’7″ x 9′ as the rug size, although you can go larger if you need to as they have bigger ones available. Also, there are two colors for the headboard and I would go with Cotton for this room instead of Oatmeal.
If you only need one lamp and nightstand, then your total price drops to around $775, which is a total steal in my opinion. At that price, you can buy new sheets (see Amy’s review on the best sheet sets out there) or even a bench, chair, or dresser.
We’ll be back soon with another budget design board; thanks for stopping by!
