Happy Saturday! I thought I would just pop in today with a few quick things, I hope you are having a great weekend. We’ve been recovering from a week of illness in our home, but fingers crossed that things will start looking up around here soon. Summer is almost over, I hate feeling like we’re missing our chance to enjoy it but I guess that is just life sometimes. Anyway, today this is a ‘Free for All” post, just full of all those random things I’d share with you all if we were sitting by the pool chatting. ?
So, yes the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is coming to an end. Here are a few final takeaways … the back to school deals are great, especially on kids shoes, which can be a massive back to school expense, right? You can see what I bought my kids for back to school in this post here, we were so happy with everything that came in. Both the tops I picked up for my daughter and the jeans for my boys were all definitely wins.

I thought I was done shopping, and yes much of the ‘good stuff’ has sold out by now, but I did go back because I can’t resist the Zella workout gear when it’s on sale. I bought the Zella live-in leggings and now I see why everyone raves about them. They are more of exercise leggings (not like a soft fashion legging) though I would wear them with a long sweater or cardigan like any other legging. These things definitely pull, tuck and suck everything in! They are SO much more comfortable with the higher cut waist (I am sure you know what I mean). Here are my other athleisure picks from the sale if you need some new workout things.
Oh and yes… these gray boots, I am seriously loving them! I am not one to buy the same thing in two colors, but as much as love the gray, this pale color is also gorgeous. I keep thinking it would go perfectly with Fall ponchos and sweaters…and these shorter boots were on my wish list too. Also, I have shared how much I love these jeans over the last year, I wear them all the time {including, yes, right now!} and they are on sale for $38. They are super stretchy and comfortable, so now is a good time to invest in a new pair if you need some jeans. {FYI: This pair looks similar and still has more sizes in stock}
Moving on from Fashion…what I really want to tell you all today is that if you haven’t tried Amazon Fresh, you should! I started using it a few weeks ago and while I am not sure if it available in all areas yet it is just the greatest thing. I have had a few hiccups with it, but they more than made it right {including giving me my entire grocery order FREE because my delivery was a few hours late!} so I am totally in love with the convenience.
I decided to try it a few weeks ago after the vendor I get our meat from at our {small} town Farmer’s Market told me I could also get his meat via Amazon Fresh. I am not always thinking ahead when I am at the market Saturday mornings so having another option to get his locally raised, grass fed meat sounded great. I have now done several orders, and so far all the produce has been fresh, the meat still perfectly frozen and nothing left out. They have a great selection of local, organic and natural products too and some good deals, like this week they offered $2 for 2 lbs of organic grapes, that is a steal. They do have about a 24-hour turnaround {though not always}, so you do have to plan ahead but there is nothing like looking outside and suddenly finding all your groceries waiting for you.
Not only that, but what impressed me the most was this week I forgot to leave their packaging on the doorstep (it is rather cumbersome, they use a ton of packaging and ice to ensure it all stays fresh) so I could return it to them. The delivery person actually came in my garage, removed the sports equipment my kids had piled on top of the empty bags, took them and left the groceries right by my back door. It’s like a magic grocery fairy! I love Amazon, seriously how did we ever live without it? {Sidenote: I just ordered Eclipse glasses from Amazon, better to be prepared than scrambling the day before, right?}
Finally, here is a thought for this weekend and for all of us heading into the busy back to school season. After being sick and pretty much down and out this week, I felt not only like I was missing out on one of our last weeks of summer but kept thinking about all the things I needed to do that I couldn’t get to. Someone shared this sign on Instagram and it kept running through my mind. I think it is a good reminder that we are all just doing the best we can 🙂

Hi, have a grocery store that sells local organic beef/meat. I noticed this time of year the store always has alot more grass fed beef, I asked them about it and it’s because the cows can’t eat grass in the winter, that never occurred to me? So I stocked up. 🙂
