I bought a new bench for the foot of our bed last week. Then I moved the one that was here up to our guest room, which was the whole point–I wanted something up there for guests to open their suitcases on.
This one is nice and long:
Plenty of room for laundry baskets! Just kidding–we try to keep it cleared off, although I did have fun moving the silver tray from one place to another around the room, to see where I liked it best. On the bench:
Then on the square table that I’m currently using as a nightstand. This is a much smaller house than our last one, so hopefully when we move again this summer I’ll gain an office/den/formal living room/bonus room or ANY of the previously mentioned extra living spaces and can put that table in there! In the meantime, I’m making it work!
There’s a knockdown rosebush right outside my window–how fitting. Roses inside, and roses outside.
The bedding is a mishmash of sources that all work together (sources at the end of the post).
I’ll show you the guest room, with the new (old) bench soon. I’m just making a few more tweaks in that room, so it should be perfect the day before the movers come (gah!).
I’m slightly addicted to these tufted benches; I use a black one in my living room as a “coffee table” and I can clear it off for extra seating when we’re entertaining. Or I can pull one over to the dining room table when we’ve got all of the leaves in for Thanksgiving or Easter dinner. Versatility is key when you don’t know what your next house will look like or how you’ll need to configure it, right?!

Love the bench. We are in the midst of updating our Master a bit, and I think I have the perfect spot to add a bench.

I did stop by earlier but don’t see my comment. Probably was in the midst of my off & on technical issues. 🙂 Had to come back and take a look at the bench.
