Tinker’s Cat Food Dreams Come True (Thanks to SHEBA® Food for Cats)!

You might remember that I posted a little while ago about the four-legged member of our family who really runs the house: our 16-year-old cat, Tinker {read that post here}.  I’m writing a series of posts for the folks who make SHEBA® Entrées for Cats, and Tinker is thrilled that he’s finally being fed the sort of food that he deserves–yummy moist food that’s easy on his two remaining teeth.

I decided it would be fun to conduct a “scientific” test to see which flavor of SHEBA® cat food is his favorite.  Hey, science fair season is coming up and anything that we can turn into an experiment, we do, especially when it involves our pets!  So, I pulled out four different entrees: Salmon Pate, Chicken Pate, Turkey Pate, and Tuna Cuts. All SHEBA® Patés are made with meat first recipes – using real beef, poultry, or seafood as the first ingredient.  This is a big deal in our house as we ALWAYS buy premium pet foods for our animals (my husband says that the animals eat better than we do, and he just might be right!).   And, all SHEBA® recipes are formulated without grains, corn, gluten, artificial flavors or preservatives.  That’s another really important fact when you have pets who have issues with allergies or food sensitivities, like we do.

I lined up all four cans in a row on the counter (Yes, the counter.  I know it’s gross, but it’s easier to take photos on the counter than on the floor!).  I had to put Tinker outside while I prepared four plates of food because he thought this was a fabulous idea and wanted to get right to work on sampling the yummies.  He only weighs six pounds now, but I swear he eats his weight every day!  When I opened the door and let him in, he started with the three pates and just went to town.  The Chicken Pate Entree was devoured first, then the Turkey Entree, and then the Salmon Entree.  He ate the Tuna Cuts Entree after that, and particularly enjoyed the gravy, but I think for a fellow who’s over a hundred years old in people years, the smooth, soft texture of the pate is really his favorite.

 And then it got funny, because after cleaning all four plates in under two minutes, he decided to help himself to more.  He dove in to the Turkey Pate Entree and went to town:

And yes, I took pity on him after I snapped these pictures and gave him seconds (or was it fifths, since he’d already eaten four platefuls?).  By the way, your cat is guaranteed to love SHEBA® cat food, or you’ll get your money back… obviously that’s not even a question with this boy. And please tell me that I’m not the only one who has a cat on the counter!
