The Very Best Fall Fashion From The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

 

For those of you who aren’t cardholders, today is the day! You can shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. After all the hype, isn’t that great? Though I am sure some of you are probably already sick of hearing about it? I totally get it 🙂

 

Since I am a cardholder, I could shop early so some of my purchases have already come in, that makes it handy to show you what some of the popular items really look like on. Today I want to show you what I got and the items I would recommend to you, and talk a little about quality and fit. If you missed it, my first post on the day the sale opened is HERE.

 

 

Then Christy showed you what she loved, you can read her post HERE. We have really similar taste, so of course, reading her post made me want to load my shopping cart right back up again 🙂

 

 

Unfortunately, not everything I ordered that I’d hoped to show you has arrived. In fact, Nordstrom even canceled one order (during the opening day chaos), it was for this henley shirt in pink and sadly it’s totally sold out. Some of the other items I ordered were so popular they have already sold out too, I’ll mention the best ones as sometime they restock or they come back later in the Fall. For the most part, there are quite a few “greatest hits” that are still available that I wanted to show you today.

I admit I love everything about this outfit…I didn’t plan to order the Kut From The Kloth bootleg jeans, but I am so glad I did. I can tell you that these are so comfortable, they have a nice high waist (that really holds everything in, what a nice change from lower riding jeans that is!) and are really slimming through the leg, plus they make you look tall! They are a nice alternative to skinny jeans, these are probably my very favorite find of the sale and they are just $59 during the sale (marked down from $89.50). These are jeans you don’t want to take off, they look dressy with a heeled shoe or boot or can be more casual with flip flops or flats.

I also scooped up the BP Raw Edge Tee for $11.90, because at that price it’s always good to have another tee. The white is sold out but there are a few other colors available. I think it takes a basic tee up a notch to style with a little knot tied in it!

 

I don’t think I mentioned these Vince Camuto booties in the first post, they were part of a later order I placed, but I am more than a bit in love with them. These are great transitional shoes, perfect for fall or spring or for those of you in warmer areas. I think they look great on, and the gray color seems to go with everything. I feel “extra” fashionable when I wear them 🙂

 

Cardigan

I was surprised how much I liked this BP Cocoon Cardigan. It’s just $32 and as of the time of writing, fully stocked in plenty of colors. I ordered plain black as a basic sweater to have around. The sweater is nice quality and the cut is very flattering (if you are on Instagram, check out our stories I will have try-ons of all these clothes for you running there today). I think this is one of the very best buys of the sale, I know it’s among the most popular women’s fashion items.  If they don’t have your size and color, another similar option is the Leith circle cardigan which is a little more money and unfortunately has fewer options in stock. I have that one in blue (I purchased it last year) and it’s another item I reach for time and time again.

 

Barefoot Dreams Cardigan  |  Zella Leggings 

These next two items are definitely must-buys. I have gotten every penny out of my Barefoot Dreams cardigan and my Zella Live-In Leggings, because I wear them all the time. The cardigan is always a top seller during the sale for good reason, there are other styles available too including this cute hooded one. I bought another one this year to give as a holiday gift, I am feeling really good about knocking that out early! The Zella leggings are a wardrobe staple, not only are they great for working out (or *looking* like you’ve been working out) but you can wear them as regular leggings with a sweater or tunic and boots too. They don’t have seams and have a nice high waist that holds everything in. They are a super nice thick material, perfect for cooler weather. I suggest sizing up in Zella.

Cardigan |  AG Raw Hemmed Jean | Similar Camisole

This next outfit shows another cardigan, which is almost out of stock so again, it was popular! I tried this color but I am not sure it’s the best on me, though I can’t seem to resist pink. This is the Leith Boxy Cardigan and I will say, the sweater has a nice silky weave to it. I liked this as a basic, but think I should probably choose another color on me, much as I like the fabric and style.  Now, let’s talk about the AG raw hemmed jeans…once I put these on I could see why they are premium denim with a premium price tag. {FYI–There is also a pair of hemmed jeans on sale here} The sale is THE time to buy these jeans, since the full price seems unfathomable! They fit like a dream, though if you are between sizes I’d suggest sizing up. I can see getting years of wear from them and felt like they were very flattering. I have waited a long time to invest in these jeans! I see why they get so many rave reviews.

 

Tunic Sweater    | Leggings  |  Adidas Sneakers {A similar pair is part of the sale HERE}

Sadly this Asymmetrical Tunic has sold out in many sizes {this one was predicted to be a best seller, hopefully they will restock!} already, but I wanted to also show you the leggings I am wearing with it.  I really love this entire outfit as something to wear on weekends, like to a sporting event or to run errands. It is super soft, and is nice and long so it works perfectly with leggings. I ordered these Halogen leggings to try them out during the pre-sale, and I am happy to report for $30 they are a pretty good find. These are definitely dressy, not workout leggings, ones that you would wear with a sweater or tunic. They have a seam down the front but it’s not noticeable, and they are made of a nice thick ponte knit material which elevates them above your run of the mill legging.

Some other sale favorites worth mentioning again…

I am still waiting for these Lucky Brand boots to arrive, unfortunately, they were VERY popular and aren’t available in all the colors. They might restock?

 

These J. Crew pajamas were another one of the top sellers during the pre-sale, however, they are still stocked in multiple colors and sizes. These made Christy’s favorites list, and I can see why!

Another sale best-seller, this tie knot sweatshirt has (at the time of writing this) very limited availability so if you’ve been eying one, scoop it up fast! One hint is to make sure you add items to your cart or wish list and then you can see if it comes back in stock. Plenty of items come back as returns over the next week, so there is always a chance you can get something you missed out on originally.

This Tory Burch watch is always a huge seller (and a great price during the sale), I have had this on my wish list for years now. The wrapped leather band makes it sporty and the gold dresses it up, this sale is a great time to purchase pricier investment items such as watches and other jewelry.

If you are a Tory Burch fan, we shared these ballet flats already but they are a great deal during the sale so here they are again. These are really an investment type of shoe and these don’t often go on sale ahead of the coming season. I still love the pink, but the black is truly a classic.

Don’t forget to check out the kid’s section for some early back to school shopping. This is a great time to buy shoes at reduced prices, I always pick some up for the coming school year. The home section also has some really nice sale items, one very popular item is this Kennebunk Bliss Throw, I ordered one in cream but it hasn’t come in yet. These make great gifts!
