Be sure to read to the end of this post; I promise you won’t want to miss out on the contest and giveaway!
Remember when I painted my powder room using the HomeRight PaintStick EZ-Twist? It turned out *awesome* and saved me so much time! I was a painting ninja:
The Paint Stick EZ-Twist is perfect for when you’re painting a big room, because you don’t continually waste time reloading your roller. There’s also no tray for me to kick over (this is a big deal; just ask me about the time I knocked over a paint tray while painting my bathroom bright red). You just pull the paint up into the handle of the PaintStick:
As you’re rolling the wall, you just twist the handle and it releases more paint onto the roller. See the black splash guard in the picture below? That keeps you from needing drop cloths. I still put a towel down at the baseboard for when I’m cutting in the edges, but that’s all you need. I also painted both rooms without a ladder, because when you extend the handle of the PaintStick, it can reach all the way to the top of the wall (which also makes it a great tool for painting ceilings).
Now, let me tell you what fun stuff the folks at HomeRight have planned for March. First, we’re giving away a PaintStick EZ-Twist (see the Rafflecopter widget below to enter). If you don’t win, you can buy them at Lowe’s, Home Depot, or Amazon.com (that’s our affiliate link, for full disclosure). Then, once you have your PaintStick and a project in mind, you can enter the HomeRight PaintStick EZ-Twist Challenge (see below for the official rules and instructions).
Contest Details:
Valid Dates: March 3 – May 30, 2014
How to Win: Take the PaintStick EZ-Twist Challenge by creating a short 30-60 second video showing how much easier the PaintStick EZ-Twist is compared to a traditional roller and tray. Don’t forget to show us before, during and after video of your project. We want to see real transformations. Videos will be judged on originality, creativity and a little bit of humor doesn’t hurt either! You don’t have to have a blog to enter; you can upload your video to YouTube. Easy! Here are more details and here is the entry form.
Prizes: 1st Place–iPad Air 64G WiFi version (valued at $699), 2nd Place–$200 cash, 3rd Place–$100 cash. HomeRight will promote the winning videos on HomeRight.com, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram. Not bad!
You can read the official contest rules here.

I should warn you that my daughter has already decided that we’re teaming up for a project and she is going to win that iPad! I’ll be sure to share my video on the blog once we get it finished. I’m not going to give too much away of her big plan, but I think we’re going to work on an accent wall in her bedroom using gold paint. How’s that for ambitious?!
Want some more inspiration from my fellow HomeRight Brand Ambassadors, and other opportunities to win a PaintStick?
Here they are: Bliss@Home, My Repurposed Life, Infarrantly Creative, The Pennington Point, Makely Home, Not Just a Housewife, Rain on a Tin Roof, Simply Designing, and The Shabby Creek Cottage. If you’re wondering how I wound up hanging with some of the biggest names in blogging, don’t worry, I wonder that all the time, too!
Last but not least, here’s the contest for the PaintStick EZ-Twist. Good luck, and thanks for stopping by!
Disclaimer: As you all know, I am a HomeRight Brand Ambassador, and every month they give me a product to review and give away to you (yay!). While they give me a product and compensate me for the time it takes to try the product and write the post, the opinions are always my own. If I think the product is just “meh,” then I will tell you! Conversely, if I tell you that I think it’s ah-maz-ing, then I am dead serious and you should immediately run to the store to buy one! I included our Amazon affiliate link; if you buy through that link we get a small commission (I will name my yacht after you). You don’t pay a cent more than you would otherwise.

I need to paint my kids’ rooms. When we moved in we hadn’t gotten them new bedding, so the room are a terrible peachy cream. Terrible!
Stephanie says
Oh my gosh! I have to re-paint my ENTIRE house (after paying a painter to paint it and he botched it all, watered down the paint, painted the WRONG finish AND color in every room, and then moved to another state… seriously) and I have a 3-yr-old and a 2-yr-old… and I work full time… and my husband works weekends… so you can see how painting our house is troublesome… this would be great! I bet I could paint my living room while my kids nap on a Saturday! What a neat tool! I need one!
Adecia says

Andrea @ Project Simple Home says
Oh gosh. I want to paint 85% of my house a light grey rather than the nasty builder beige, but I think I’d start in the laundry room. It needs a nice fresh coat of paint, either the lightest of blues or a soft yellow.

I actually tried the HomeRight PaintStick EZ-Twist this past weekend after seeing it somewhere in blogland and saw it next to the counter when I bought my paint at Lowes a few weeks ago. I wasn’t sure about it then so I bought my usual painting supplies in case in didn’t work well. WOW…I started out thinking I be painting just my foyer and next thing you know I’m in the guest hall and the laundry. It was so easy to use I got carried away and didn’t stop. Good thing the color I used was neutral enough that I didn’t think twice about using it in those extra areas. Next up will be the huge family room that I thought I would rather pay someone to paint for me, but now thanks to the paintstick I will be tackling this room and the kitchen myself! Between this and my Purdy’s, I will have a new-again home in time for Spring!

It would be so great to win the HomeRight Paint EZ-Twist to help re-paint our home. We have been here 13 yrs. and we painted when we moved in, now it is time to start over. Sounds like if I don’t win, I will be purchasing one of my own. Thanks for letting us know that money will be well spent on this wonderful paint invention!!!
Jahan says
The first room that I would paint would the baby room. I’m currently expecting a boy 🙂 By the way love your bathroom! 🙂
Catherine Edmonds says
We need to tackle the bathroom ceilings in our house before Masters rental!
Jackie Beardsley says
My laundry room and hallway have been a color (kind-of a yucky adobe color) I’ve never liked ever since we bought our house (10 years), but I’ve dreaded the thought of painting! This HomeRight PaintStick EZ-Twist looks like it might make the huge job not so nasty. We enter our home from the garage through the laundry room, like lots of homeowners do, and everyday I wish it was a different color. Maybe someday. I’ve even picked the new color!
