Happy Sunday! I meant to get this posted earlier, but the weekend has passed by in a blur. Don’t they always?!
The photo above is from the lake house where we were fortunate enough to spend Friday night with extended family. Connor and I were visiting Clemson as he finalized his college decision for the fall, and we spent the night with our cousins at their lake house on beautiful Lake Keowee. I’m definitely hoping they’ll give me the OK to share the entire stunning space with you on the blog in the future; in the meantime, here’s another shot of the downstairs outdoor seating area:
Having family only ten minutes away (and on the lake!) was definitely big on the “pro” list, but in the end he decided on Hampden-Sydney College. It was a tough choice between the two, but I know it’s just where he’s supposed to be.
So, our next few weeks are going to be pretty busy with all the “lasts” of senior year, but it’s all such fun stuff and I’m going to try to savor every single moment with him. For those of you who are wondering, yes, my husband will be able to come home for his graduation. We’re already counting the days until we’re together again!
One quick share on a completely unrelated subject: every year I love to see what Vineyard Vines does for their Kentucky Derby collection; it never fails to impress because of course you should put mint julep cups on a tie, am I right? Since the Run for the Roses is coming up in a few short weeks, I took a look over there today.
This tie would look great with a pair of blue and white seersucker pants, wouldn’t it?

They also offer a 15% military and student discount, if you’re eligible. I also noticed that they have a line of Hampden-Sydney bowties on the HSC bookstore page, which is so fitting as Connor loves his bowties.
I hope you enjoyed a restful weekend, and maybe even some spring weather.
Thanks for stopping by~

Oh friend. I know it is a relief to all of you to have the decision made. I had such a hard time with Katie’s “lasts” because she was the baby. When I posted I cried about making her last lunch, her sister replied, “I cried when you made my last lunch.” LOL Now he can just relax and enjoy his final days as a senior. Trust me when I say, college goes by far too quickly!
Katie spent the weekend up your way packing David for the move next weekend 🙂

My nephew went to Hamden-Sydney and absolutely loved it. It’s funny, because from what you’ve said about your son, and his photos, he’s reminded me of my nephew. Godspeed Connor!

My friend’s two sons went to Hampden-Sydney College. both had a wonderful experience..and I laughed when I saw your bow ties comments because I was about to suggest that you make sure he packs ALL of his bow ties. Enjoy this time of celebration!
