Hi everyone and Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there! We celebrated last night with my Dad, and it was wonderful. He brought the ribs, which is just the kind of father he is, he brings amazing food to his own celebration! If you haven’t seen them, you can check out these fabulous built-in bookcases he built for us. I tell him he is blog-famous now because it’s become a very popular post, probably because it’s not a hard project but one with huge impact. I saw someone on Instagram say recently it’s not a DIY, it’s a “HYDDYII” (Have Your Dad DIY It!), that is SO me. He’s always the one I turn to 🙂
I have a two-part series I want to share with you and hopefully, I’ll have that posted next week. I recently went to the cutest party where we made our own DIY cleaners at my very talented neighbor’s home and I want to give you all the recipes and show off the cute party she threw. I don’t want too much space between the two posts so I am hoping to squeeze them both in together next week. This week we’re going to be giving away a Nordstrom gift card on Instagram {be sure you are following us HERE}, so we have some fun things coming up!

Towel | Lilly Tumbler | Hat | Book | Sunnies | Sunscreen
We are gearing up for our big family vacation in celebration of my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary, so I have been shopping *a little*. Here are some of the fun things that are coming along with me! Summer essentials no doubt 🙂 The hat is perfect for vacation {it was a fun gift from my sis-in-law}, my favorite {safe} sunscreen, sunnies {on sale!} ones I won’t be sad if they get swept into the ocean for less than $15, and this cute blanket/throw/towel {I use it for all of the above!}. If you are looking for a fun beach read, I have really enjoyed this series by Beatriz Williams. I still have to finish one of them, but the books are about three sisters in the 1960’s and are light reads, perfect for vacation. If three books are too much for you, I really enjoyed this book by the same author. You don’t necessarily need to read them in order, but I do like how she carries over characters from one book to the next.
I have seen a few really cute projects around the internet, and of course, the Summer Home Tour was so much fun last week. One blogger who is always turning out amazing projects, and she is a real life friend too, is Sara from Sincerely Sara D. I wanted to share these easy DIY kitchen shelves she did herself, I love the gold brackets! She has an easy shiplap tutorial as part of this project too. We have DIY shelves too, you can see them here but I think Sara’s are the perfect solution for a larger wall.
Can we talk about the world’s cutest pop-up camper? I have a thing for RV’s, campers etc. and this one made me start searching Craig’s List for a pop-up trailer just like the one Annie at Zevy Joy just made over. My childhood weekends were spent in a camper just like this one so my wheels are turning! My husband wants an AirStream {maybe when we win the lottery!} but I’d be happy in something with this much charm. Maybe this can be my next project?
I shared this in our last Favorite Friday Finds but I ordered this shirt in green, it came in and I have to say it’s a win! It’s lightweight, nice and long in the back, and a very pretty knit fabric. You can’t beat the price, I am pretty sure I need the navy too 🙂 I also have my eye on this darling blue and white top for my parents’ coming anniversary celebration, with white pants it would be the perfect summer evening outfit.
Finally, because it is Sunday. I signed up for {and admit I am running behind on} this online Bible Study from Proverbs 31. I have a hard time fitting in evening Bible Studies out of my home so these are nice because they work at your pace, and I know we can all be our own worst critics, right? They have a new study starting June 26 on Ruth, Esther {I have done Beth Moore’s Esther Bible study and this book is well worth digging into) and Song of Songs, more info HERE.
That’s all for today friends! I hope you have a lovely Sunday, an amazing Father’s Day and for those of you missing your dads today, I send you extra hugs today!
