I was kind of going for an industrial look. The galvanized pipe curtain rod is {here}; I love how it turned out!
Boys’ rooms can be tricky to decorate, at least in my opinion, but he’s satisfied with how it turned out, so I think we’ll keep it this way for awhile!
I’ll be back soon with a source list.
Thanks for stopping by!

I seriously cracked up when you said that your son doesn’t like change because mine REALLY doesn’t like it either and I’ve been wanting to spruce up his room too! You did an awesome job on this space and I love all of the personal touches. I’m totally going to be copying the galvanized pipe curtain rod as soon as my son decides to let me! LOL!

Maybe it’s just a boy thing, Vanessa? Resistance to change?! 🙂

I have to laugh at the “boy’s not liking change”…a true guy thing…!!…However, he absolutely must be happy with this change!…Love the room..so many creative details and love all the vintage touches!…Fantastic job Christy!

I just discovered your blog. Great job on the room! I was wondering about the holder you are using to display all the coins on his bookshelf? What a great idea for all the coins we’ve collected over the years! Thanks!

Hi, Lori–
Believe it or not, I found that one at a thrift store, but if you google “challenge coin display” there are lots of places that sell them online. I’ve even seen them at Hobby Lobby, although we don’t live near one of those now. 🙁

I’ve loved this room ever since you first shared! I included it on my Boy Mom Madness recap today 🙂

Beautiful rooms! Where are the quilt’s from?
Christy says
Thanks so much! The gray one is from IKEA. If you saw the helicopter one in his old room, that was Pottery Barn Kids.

Great room!! Where did you find the rustic navy open end table?
Christy says
Joy, that actually belonged to my great-grandmother (I painted it navy). Isn’t it sweet?
