The light wasn’t great tonight, but I wanted to show you the garden stool that I scored at Michael’s yesterday on 80% off sale (plus another 20% off with my coupon–whoot! whoot!). You’ve already seen it if you follow us on Instagram, because I just had to share! It was $100 originally; I got it for $16, so I was feeling pretty smug yesterday.
Here’s the before:

Here’s the paint I used:
It covered beautifully. The trick with metallic paints–really, with any spray paint–is to use multiple thin coats. That’s hard for me since I’m a big fan of immediate gratification!
It’s actually going to “live” next to the white chair in the corner, but I’m in the middle of rearranging things over there. We all know that when you add ONE new thing to a room, the entire room needs to be changed, so I put it next to the sofa for pictures.
The pillow provides a nice pop of coral-pink because I have so many neutrals in this room. It used to live in my daughter’s room before her most recent (and final!) room makeover, but I rescued it from my stash in the garage and gave it a gold monogram last night, using my Silhouette Cameo and heat-transfer vinyl. I love how it turned out! {You can buy the gold monogram in our Etsy shop}
Stay tuned, because there’s more to come in the next days and weeks. Be sure to follow us via social media (the black buttons below my picture) if you want to see all of my updates as I work on this room, or click on the button with the envelope to sign up for our email updates (you’ll get an email whenever we post something new).

Love it!!!! It looks great! So I’m guessing hold for the fire place too?
That was supposed to be Gold. 🙂
I knew what you meant. 🙂 I think I’m going to leave the screen black for now; this is going to be right next to it and I don’t want to overdo the gold.

It was definitely a win-win! 🙂
Love this! The pillow is gorgeous and your spray painting job is perfect!
Thank you! I’ve finally learned to slow down with the spray painting, but it’s taken years!
