We’re back today with a few of our favorite things to share with you. I really enjoy writing these posts, it is like hanging out with friends talking about the great things I have come across recently. We’d love to hear all the things you are loving for Fall in the comments too 🙂 {our posts contain affiliate links, please see our full disclosure policy HERE}
We’ve just finished several weeks of rain here, so much that I was just telling someone I couldn’t remember the last time I wore anything other than my Hunter rain boots. I invested in a pair five years ago when we lived near the beach {and it rained ALL THE TIME in the spring} and they are still going strong. I think there is good reason to spend a little more to get boots that are classic and will last for years, in fact I am about to invest in some Hunter boot socks to make them warmer in the winter. Hunter boots are here for a good price if you have been thinking of investing in a pair, I have the navy but the hot pink or red gloss (perfect for the holidays!) would be just too fun.
How do you feel about stripes with plaid? Then is it over the top to throw in some leopard for good measure? ? This is the perfect Fall outfit in my book. I am not exactly sure why this all goes together so well but I love how it all looks together, it has kind of become my Fall uniform. The shirt is so soft and goes with everything, the flats were a steal, and the scarf keeps it from being too plain. All the pieces are great basics that work individually with other things in my closet too.

Fall flannel shirts are THE thing at this time of year–they are that perfect casual “It’s Fall!” look. I wanted to show you my current favorite shirt. It’s made of a casual fall flannel but styled to be a bit dressier like a tunic. I’d wear this every day if I could, in fact I have to stop and make sure I am not duplicating it from event to event I love it that much. I actually got this shirt from Stitch Fix late in the summer, it seemed crazy to buy it then when the weather was still hot but now that it is cooler I am so glad I did. The shirt is by “Skies are Blue” if you want to request it in a Fix.
I have a quick Stitch Fix story to share. I have been getting “fixes” from them for 2 years {see HERE and HERE}, just last week I received a “Fix” and kept a shirt from it. I wore the shirt last weekend and washed it once, after hanging it to dry I noticed a small hole in the shoulder. I emailed them to let them know, because after all it was brand new but figured since I had washed it I was out of luck. Within minutes I’d been emailed back, had a full refund, and an apology that this “was not up to their quality standards”! I have to give them huge props for their awesome customer service. I already love that they pick great clothes out and send them to me, but their fast response makes me even more loyal now. I don’t have time or energy to deal with going to a store to return something over a small hole in a shirt, but how nice was it to have the matter addressed in minutes with absolutely no fuss? Seems like it is so rare to have a good customer service experience in this day and age!
Halloween is coming–I am not a person who prefers gory, scary decor but don’t mind a little black and white stuff with some polka dots thrown in here and there for fun. You can see all our favorite Halloween ideas over the years we’ve been blogging in this post here.
Have you started your holiday shopping? {Did you just roll your eyes at me?} OK, I haven’t either but I am a HUGE fan of supporting small business so I went ahead and updated our post from last year with our top 25 gifts from ETSY and I included some new ideas. You know, just in case you want to get started 🙂 Most ETSY seller are very much ‘small business’, like stay at home moms, artists or just creative people sharing their talents. I love shopping at the mall as much as the next person but I really love to support ETSY sellers, and their gifts are so much more unique and personal. You can check out our gift ideas in this post HERE.
Speaking of the holidays–these cute Thanksgiving and Christmas pillows are a great price if you are in the mood for some new seasonal decor.
One of my very favorite fashion bloggers is Sheaffer from Shaeffer Told Me To, not only is she hilarious but she has such cute style. This week she shared the best trick for wearing blanket scarves–just cut them in half! Ok, she reminds us that wearing a pony tail is a must too, but since blanket scarves can be bulky this is brilliant. The best part is that after you cut them you then wind up with TWO scarves and can give one to a friend! So, now that she showed me how to make the huge scarves work I ordered a new one HERE {they have the best prices I think?}, I ordered the caramel, black and cream for this season–sounds toasty doesn’t it? ?.
Since this is all about favorite finds, I don’t think it is too early to start my Christmas list and a Rifle Paper Co. iPhone case is on it. Aren’t these patterns cute? I grabbed a case quickly at Walmart when I upgraded last summer just so I wouldn’t break my new phone, but stylish it is not. I have been planning to replace it and I just love this floral pattern, it is so happy and bright!
