I’ve been wanting to write a post for quite a while about some of my favorite books, but I kept waiting because it’s such a crazy eclectic list that I didn’t think anyone would be interested. But today I’m jumping in–and this is absolutely just the tip of the iceberg because I’m only talking about design and nonfiction books today (with a few classics that are in my daughter’s room).
I suppose the common theme in these books is that they are beautiful to look at–and as such great for coffee tables and to be on display on your bookshelves–but they are also fun to read because–obviously!
I’ll link at each of them to Amazon if you want to read more about any of them.

My daughter’s favorite Puffin in Bloom books are beautiful and of course, all such wonderful stories. I had been eyeing them for awhile at Anthropologie, but then I thought to check Amazon, and they are quite a bit less there (about $12 each instead of $18 each). So she got them all for Christmas, and since each book is an old favorite already, she was thrilled. Wouldn’t they make a great birthday gift for a girl who loves to read?
If you are a fan of beautiful classic books, check out their Puffin Chalk and Puffin Classics lines, as well.

Next, Tiffany’s Table Manners for Teenagers (sorry that the pointe ribbon is covering it; I actually snapped that photo for a different post). This is another beautiful book that’s also practical–my daughter loves reading it and it’s a gentle way to teach etiquette from a young age. It also looks just right in her aqua room.

Here are a few of my favorites in the design/DIY/decor niche:
The Charleston Academy of Domestic Pursuits–beautiful, hilarious, and useful, all at once–it’s my new go-to birthday gift!

I’ve read all of these cover to cover and they are so enjoyable. There’s nothing better than curling up on the couch with a glass of wine, a warm throw blanket, and a design book! Well, for me, at least. 🙂 Oh, and this is just a partial list–seriously! I’ll share a few more next time.
And of course, even though Savannah Celebrations is a book about entertaining and as such has recipes in it, I haven’t even touched on my favorite cookbooks yet!
Which ones did I miss? Let me know your must-haves in the comments.

Many are on my coffee table as well. And, I picked up Charleston Academy of Domestic Pursuits after you recommended it. Great book! Some of my other favorites are A Nesting Place, A Well Dressed Room, and Books Do Furnish a Room.
