Good morning and happy Monday. If you are dragging today, you aren’t the only one. We came in for a hard landing this morning after a long day and late evening at the hospital with our thirteen year old son, Jack yesterday. He isn’t out of the woods yet, but we’re thankful for good doctors and modern medicine. I don’t know what is tiring about just sitting in a hospital but I feel like I was hit by a train this morning, but he’s feeling better and that is all that matters.
I also just wrapped by head around Halloween being just two days away. How did that happen? I have one child young enough to really care, thank goodness Amazon already provided the darling little deer costume she’ll be wearing, but seriously, we don’t even have a pumpkin yet. Parenting fail! We’ll be frantically getting up to speed today and tomorrow.
I decided against decorating our outside for Halloween this year (you can see the poll I took on IG when I was debating if it was worth it to decorate, it wasn’t very helpful! ? ? ?) since we really won’t get any kids on our street due to all the construction in our area. Next year it will be different, so we’ll just save up our energy and go big then.
Our Favorite Easy Halloween Ideas
I thought I’d share some of our favorite Halloween ideas from other years (when clearly I had my act way more together!) today. I’m not a big scary, morbid Halloween person but love that my kids enjoy the holiday so I try to find ways to make the most of it. Truthfully, I am most excited that it means that the holidays are just around the corner! ?
Since I prefer to keep things on the lighter side of life, here is my post from a few years ago about decorating in a “not-so-scary” way!
Christy’s “Out of Treats” Sign … this is perfect for when you’re ready to close up shop for the evening.
Our bittersweet wreath…an easy, seasonal door decoration.
Our Halloween-Tini…every Halloween celebration deserves this special drink made with apple cider (yum!).
A fun way to “Boo” adults or wrap up a Halloween Hostess present…
Create perfect Halloween Party Invitations using Apothocary Jars…
Other fun ideas including “Trick or Treats” for adults…a nice way to offer a reward for those parents who making the trek around the neighborhood.
Have a great week everyone!

Amy, please don’t beat yourself up re not decorating for Halloween considering all that is on your plate…….and especially since you’re returning from the ER. Hope your son is fine and recovers quickly. No doubt I think we all can agree this year has quickly flown……..a little early and yet HAPPY HALLOWEEN to you/family!
