Hello! This is week 3 of the One Room Challenge at Calling it Home.
This is a slow week without much exciting decorating progress actually in the room, I will be honest. My plan was to hit IKEA last weekend, but we had some unexpected house guests so my trip to pick up the shelves and bookcases was postponed. Fingers crossed, I will get there in the next few days and have those ready to show off next week.
I did do some work organizing the console I showed off last week. Since I want to store the majority of my office supplies in this piece of furniture, I created some drawer organizers {again with the gold spray paint!} to corral smaller items. I lined the drawers with some MacBeth shelf paper for a little polish inside as well.
I found this lucite tray on clearance at HomeGoods and added shelf paper left from my Butler’s Pantry Makeover. It will, of course, serve an important purpose of organizing various “things” on top of the console.
The lucite desk organizers came from Amazon and I just added a gold vinyl decal to personalize them. A high-end look for just a few $!
I picked up this lamp {above} at an estate sale last summer, and this week I added the greek key trim to the shade. There are no overhead lights in the room so I am in need of a few more lamps to have enough light to work there.
I also ordered this pillow {above} to adorn the desk chair, I needed to figure out how to get some blue Ikat in the room somewhere!
Which brings me to the curtain debacle. I have given up on finding the blue Ikat curtains I originally wanted for the room {see the inspiration in the Week 1 post HERE}. I really need light control since there are six windows and the room is attached to our bedroom. I hit on the perfect solution after seriously stressing all week over what to do with the windows. I LOVE these curtains {below}, but I am not sure they work perfectly in my new Dining Room?
So today’s plan is to move them upstairs and replace them with something similar to what I had originally envisioned for the office. That may change again by next week, we shall see, but I think I really like this plan.
That’s about it for this week. I did frame the little “Hello” card my friend sent me {I posted this on Instagram already} it’s so nice to get something ‘snail’ mail these days, and with these gold dots it’s a keeper.
Check back next week, hopefully all the shelves will be purchased and done–fingers crossed, these ORC weeks are flying by!
