Happy Monday everyone! Today we kick of our Operation: Organization Back to School series!

If your children aren’t already back to school I am guessing that they will be within the next few weeks. In some ways it is hard to let summer go, isn’t it? Though I admit that returning to routine is always kind of nice.  This week we’re kicking off our annual series where we invite our best blogging friends, the ones who especially inspire us with their organizational skills, to share their back to school tricks! We decided to change things up this year and have everyone share their back to school ideas Monday and Wednesday on their own blogs so you can click around to get completely inspired.

I was debating what I should share for our project today and I started thinking about what has helped me get through last week {when my kids school year began} and as usual, I depend on making lists to stay organized. All of my kids started school last week and we have now hit the stage where all three are in different schools– I have one in high school, one in middle school and one in elementary. That means three different schedules, bus times, school supply lists, back to school nights and so on. Keeping it all in my head has been crazy. On top of that we have all the activities and sports to juggle so I am running here and there all evening long, anyone else relate?

My calendar pad is in full force right now–my husband just told me again how much he likes having it hang on the fridge {mostly because I think he hates having to constantly ask me what time to be places 🙂 } but also because he knows what we are in for at the end of the workday 🙂 . If you aren’t familiar with this product you can see the introductory post HERE and my best tips for using it HERE.  The most important trick is that you can fill it out and then snap a picture with your phone {which you can then send to your husband!}, that way you have everything you need–your schedule, grocery list, task list etc. at hand as you go about your week.

Adjusting to middle school and high school hasn’t been the easiest transition. Unlike elementary school, the kids are more responsible for managing their own work much more independently. My oldest tends to do well with this on his own, but my middle son needs a little more help. Their Student Binders keep them both on track. I can go over their weekly assignments and they know what needs to get done each day, when they have a sports practice and when they can play with their friends. That goes a long way in helping keep all our stress levels down.  These binders come in two different colors combinations– a pink confetti and a preppy navy and green. You can read more about them HERE or purchase a printable version pink–HERE and navy–HERE.
