This is your chance, mamas!
Have you ever noticed that most of the year it’s easy as pie to think of things you’d love to get as a gift, but as soon as birthdays or Christmas roll around, you completely forget all of those great ideas? I’ve started to keep a list on my phone, and I figured I’d share a few of my favorites, just in case you’re racking your brain for suggestions. From high dollar items to fabulously frugal, I’m here for you!

Let’s start big; this is on my list this year, and it will probably be several holidays rolled into one, but I just love the flow of it, as well as the classic white and gold. You know that I buy lots of clothes at thrift shops, but this is definitely not one of those times!!

I’ve been eyeing these gorgeous pagoda monogram napkins from Etsy; wouldn’t they look perfect with blue willow plates? The monogram in hot pink or kelly green would contrast nicely with the blue pagoda…decisions, decisions!

I have two favorite perfumes right now, and neither one of them is what I’d consider to be “mainstream”, so it’s possible you’ve never heard of either one. Tocca’s Florence smells heavenly, and the bottle is gorgeous.

Lollia’s soaps, lotions, and perfumes are delicious; their “Wish” scent is probably my favorite. It’s light enough for a young girl, too, if you need a gift idea for a preteen or teen.

My son almost always gets me a candle for holidays; it’s kind of our tradition. I love them and he always does a good job of picking out the scents I like best.
Rewined is one of my favorites (I like the chardonnay scent best, because, well, chardonnay):

Lilly Pulitzer always has darling candles, too, that smell SO good, and then you can repurpose the jars when you’ve burned them. Shop them {here}.
This year, I’ve been pairing a wick trimmer with candles when I gift them. I always have used my fingers before to trim my wicks, and of course there’s nothing messier. These look nice and do their job, and are only about $10. You might just need one.

The trifecta of candle gift-giving includes a matchbox; these chinoiserie ginger jar ones from Annechovie are adorable. I have them all over my house and they make me happy whenever I light a candle.

If you’ve got a big budget and are looking for something that you’ll keep and wear forever, then you can’t beat a silk Hermés scarf. They are quite expensive, but absolutely classic (especially for Southerners). I very nearly bought this Paperoles print in vieux rose when we were changing planes at Charles de Gaulle in Paris, because of course they have a Hermés store in the airport. It’s now moved to my birthday/Christmas list.

On the other hand, if you have a tiny budget, just remind your peeps that fresh lilies or hydrangeas on a tray of breakfast in bed is perfectly lovely, too. If they’re making you dinner, then {this} tuna tartare with avocados is what my husband always makes me on Mother’s Day, and it is SO good!
I will admit that I always miss my mom on Mother’s Day {you can read her story here}. To combat that sadness, we try to always do something together as a family on Mother’s Day, even if it’s just sit on the porch and read together, and that is by far my favorite thing.
Wishing you every blessing this Mother’s Day!

Lovely finds! I think a couple of these ideas are going on my own personal wish list too! Perfect round-up!! I love just hanging out and reading as a family too 😉 Happy early Mother’s Day to you both!

Next time, buy the Hermes scarf for yourself and feel proud when you wear it, I know very few who hustle every day like you do. I’m amazed. You make the most of your time, talent and wallet while remaining pleasant.

What a lovely compliment, Becky! I’ll think of it every time I wear that Hermes scarf that I’m going to buy sometime in the next few months. 🙂
Thank you–
Christy

Hey, Dori–
They’re from Ballard Designs. Aren’t they gorgeous?!
