Hi, everyone! It’s time for another installment in our monthly budget-friendly recipes series, hosted by our friend Marty at A Stroll Thru Life. My offering this week is my Jalapeño Margarita recipe.Jump to Recipe
These are delicious but super-strong–so fair warning! Although you’ll want to use high-quality tequila, the way I see it, you’ll only need one of these, so that makes them a budget cocktail. 😉
You can also adjust your level of spice up or down based on your preferences.
Here’s the recipe; it makes two strong and spicy cocktails:
Jalapeño Margarita Recipe
These are spicy hot–and strong!
- 4 oz tequila
- 2 oz triple sec
- 1.5 T agave nectar (you can also substitute simple syrup)
- 2 limes, juiced plus additional wedges for garnish
- 1/2 jalapeño pepper sliced and seeded
- kosher or sea salt
Combine all ingredients except salt in a shaker and shake well to combine.
While drink is resting, dip the rims of two glasses in water and then salt.
Strain into glasses and serve with lime wedges.
Be sure to check out the rest of this week’s recipes below. I think our margaritas would go perfectly with Our Southern Home’s steak tacos, Bloom in Black’s tofu tacos, and This is Our Bliss’s Mexican coleslaw, don’t you?
