It’s One Room Challenge Time!

I have been going back and forth about participating in this Fall’s One Room Challenge because while it is so much fun and motivates you to knock out a room redo in a short period of time, I am still in the home stretch of our Kitchen Makeover so that is kind of enough for one month, right?

Last year I made over my office for the ORC and it was a great way to start and finish a room in a relatively short period of time.  You can see how I made over my office last Fall HERE.

I decided to go ahead and consider myself a participant–after all, next up on my room makeover list is our powder room.  It is a small room but it’s high time I spiffed it up, considering the last time I had a party I was that crazy person thinking ‘I wonder if I can paint the bathroom in the next two hours before my guests arrive?’ The room is not in terrible shape it’s just dull, plus you have to admit that it’s a space that your guests do often see, no getting around that.

So here is a peak at what I am planning and it includes this gorgeous but temporary wallpaper from Tempaper Designs.

I’ll also of course be adding a new mirror, new window treatment and accessories. Whether I actually get to adding new lighting, a new sink and faucet all remain to be seen. I have high hopes but I am also a realist and my kitchen is my top priority right now. I am so excited to show you all my finished kitchen next week!

So, that’s what I’ll (hopefully) be up to the next 6 weeks and will share what progress I make as I go along. You can follow all the designers participating in the One Room Challenge via Calling It Home — the series kicked off today–they always do some mind-blowing makeovers in the six week challenge timeframe, I can’t wait to see what this year brings!
