As most of you know, we adopted our sweet rescue kitty, Brontë, last fall, and she has taken over the house. Which we knew she would, because this isn’t our first rodeo cat.

Exhibit 2:
And, perhaps most egregious, Exhibit 3:
(It’s egregious because that’s the dog’s bed. We know who is in charge here!)
In all seriousness, though, Harley loves his new feline friend, and that was a big reason why we adopted another animal. We chose Brontë because she was already five months old and out of that first phase of kitten hood, when it’s easy to get adopted because you’re tiny and fluffy.
Adolescent kittens are SO much easier than adolescent puppies, though! There is no potty-training, chewing, jumping up, you name it. When our goldens were puppies, I honestly thought they were going to destroy the house, and we went through cases of carpet cleaner. That’s when I first discovered Spot Shot®, and like all of the products that we write sponsored posts about, we use it and love it.
Why? It works. And it’s safe. You know that Amy and I are both advocates of a healthy lifestyle and prefer natural cleaners (see related posts here and here).
Fortunately, what we need it for now is the occasional Brontë hairball episode or when Harley eats the trash and decides later that he’s not going to be able to digest it. Have you ever noticed how animals will walk past a perfectly good tile or hardwood floor and go straight to the carpet or rug to vomit? What is that?!
Here’s what you need to know about Spot Shot ® Pet Instant Carpet Stain and Odor Eliminator:

I keep a can upstairs and downstairs so I’m always ready.
This is how it usually happens in my house–no one notifies me when there’s been a mishap, I just get to discover it on my own.
Note that she looks concerned, but certainly not embarrassed. Perhaps this one was the dog’s fault?
Never mind, cats never look embarrassed.
A quick shake and spray, then let the foam work for a few minutes.
Blot away with a clean cloth and repeat as needed.
And before you know it, everything’s back to normal, but note that the dog still doesn’t have control over his own bed!

I have three large dogs and my solution is to get rid of all the carpet. Lol. Love your kitten!

Yes! I totally agree! This is the one carpeted room in our house, but if they’re going to make a mess, they go straight to it (or an area rug). Why throw up on perfectly good tile or hardwood floors when carpeting is so much more absorbent?!

Oh I love this! I have a similar battle to go through and that’s the reason I can relate with that. we went through cases of carpet cleaners. This post is very helpful. Thanks.
