I’ve gotten more than a few requests for a tutorial on how I tie my bows; this is definitely an area where a video explains things so much more easily than simple text.

Using this tutorial, your bows will look like this:

A few tips:

  • -Start with more ribbon than you think you need.  I use 36″ (1 yard) for this particular bow; I’d rather cut a little off when I’m finished than not have enough.
  • -I use 1.5″ ribbon most frequently and usually buy it at Hobby Lobby when it’s 50% off.
  • -Using a dab of Fray Check on the ends keeps them from fraying over time.
  • -Practice makes perfect!  After you tie a few, you’ll be able to make a perfect bow every time.

Now, here’s the video.  Just leave a comment if you have any questions and I’ll try to answer them.

Thanks for stopping by!

Great ~ thank you for sharing! I’ve never been able to make pretty bows and usually have my daughter do it. Will try this technique!
