Hi friends! Heather here from Southern State of Mind. You may recognize me from our monthly Pretty Preppy Party and I just love joining the Holiday Open House tradition here at 11 Magnolia Lane. Such inspiration among all of these beautiful holiday homes and I am so honored to share mine with you today.
Oh, there’s no place like home for the holidays! Come on in!
Let’s start in the foyer. I kept our decor very traditional this year by carrying a tartan plaid ribbon throughout the rooms. If you know me, you know that navy is my love language, and a navy plaid ribbon may just be my favorite thing. Ever.
Actually I take that back, these little silhouettes might be my favorite thing. Ever.
This was a quick DIY project of silhouettes of the Sweets. I know I’m biased but aren’t their little profiles cute?
Here’s a glimpse of part of our Nutcracker Collection. My Mother-in-Law started this collection for my husband years before we were married and it continues every year. I love pulling them out! Of course, no southern Christmas home tour wouldn’t be complete without some Magnolia leaves thrown in for good measure.
Nothing says Christmas like Hunter boots. At least if you are a blogger taking pictures of your holiday home.
Moving into the family room. Sweet Bella welcomes you! (Don’t worry she will resume her nap position soon.) This is the heart of our home so our tree is in here.
Last year, since our family was “complete”, I was excited to order matching monogrammed classic red stockings. Is it weird that stockings make my heart happy?
More tartan ribbon on the tree. More nutcrackers. Hel-lllloooo black buffalo check!
Oh, and who’s ready for a Moscow Mule? #tistheseason
Here is a shot of the “bar”-moire ready for holiday hosting. This old TV armoire works great for a drink server.
Another simple DIY project from this year. A Lindsay Letters knock-off. YAY for $6 projects!
Here is some gift wrap inspiration for you. Paint chip gift tags! Simple. Pretty. FREE!
Alright- let’s move to the dining room. We gave up our formal dining room to make a fourth bedroom, but gained a fireplace in the process. Overall, I’d say it’s a great trade off! Even a mundane weekday breakfast feels special with a fire!
And I may just need to keep this wreath up as a reminder to spread some JOY all year!
Well, this was fun sharing a little glimpse of my holiday home. Thanks so much to the ladies at 11 Magnolia Lane for including me. To see more holiday fun, come on over to Southern State of Mind anytime!
Happy Holidays! xoxo- Heather

I just love your house and all the beautiful christmas decor, especially the amazing collection of the nutcarckers and the plaid ribbon. I am in love with your white and blue curtains! They are gorgeous. If you don’t mind, could you please tell me your source? Thank you for sharing your home.
Love the nutcrackers and how you weaved them in the decorations! My son has a collection too. I hope his wife when he marries will cherish them like you are doing.
