Happy Friday! I planned on writing up a whole winter fashion post for today but some of the items I ordered haven’t arrived yet so I’ll save that for next Friday. I have a collection of random things to share with you today along with a few favorite finds so I thought I’d just wrap it all up into a Free for All post for this Friday.
Are you all still snowed in? For some reason, we didn’t get more than a dusting here in Virginia this week, but Christy, who is 6+ hours south of us got a whole load of snow! The weather is just crazy this year, my kids are positively fuming that they haven’t had any legit snow days. I am kind of in the mood for one or two good ones, you know the snow days when everything gets canceled and you have to stay home? Though immediately after those days happen, then spring can come, I am fine with that.

I tried to issue a moratorium on buying new clothes after the holidays, and I lasted about a whole two weeks. I caved last Sunday when LOFT started a 50% off sale, which is their best deal and is still going on! It started with this cute bathing suit, which of course, I have absolutely no need for a bathing suit in January but it was so cute and on sale, so I grabbed it. Spring break is, after all, just two months away! They have some great swim styles here if you have any trips planned or just want to get ahead for the summer, I don’t think this one will last long :). I would size up in Loft swimwear.
I also grabbed this sweater while it was on sale, I will show it to you next week styled with jeans and booties, but I thought it was really cute and would work well with both jeans or dressier pants.
Christy sent me a bunch of pictures of what she has been wearing (again, more to come next week) so we could show you outfits from both of our real-life closets 🙂 but she is raving about the nautical striped poncho from Loft. Isn’t it cute styled with the leopard accessories?

I also ordered this cardigan this week, I wanted to share that it (and other popular items) go in and out of stock in different sizes and colors at Nordstrom. One trick I have learned is to keep the item in your Nordstrom shopping cart and you may see it become available again. That worked for me as I was able to get this sweater on sale in blue, in my size, after it was listed as sold out earlier. Just a shopping tip, I hope that helps! Now if the same would happen with these boots in black, my fingers are crossed! 🙂
Moving on to home decor, Target has 30% off bed and bath until tomorrow. I have been wavering on ordering this pretty ruffled duvet and sham set (because you can’t beat the price!). I’m not really in need of new bedding, but I would love a classic white set and this one has gotten rave reviews. I also already have this set HERE, we used it in our guest room at our old house and it is currently on my daughter’s bed in this rental, you can get the set for less than $50 for a queen right now.
I also wanted to show you all this pretty rug we just got. I ordered it when Erin mentioned she had it in her living room, because I wanted to be sure to protect the beautiful hardwoods in our rental/temporary house so we needed a family room rug. While it is a little darker than I expected, I love it in our space. It is a nice thick quality rug, I expect we’ll use it in our bedroom in our new home. I just wanted to share it since the 8×10 is on sale for $250 with free shipping which is a such a great price for a quality rug.
Check out our Instastories you can see a video of the whole room, I haven’t really finished moving into the space and may not ever, since we aren’t here long, but you can see more details about the rug. {You can see our instastory videos by going to our Instagram profile {here} and clicking the round picture of us via any mobile device, just in case you weren’t aware}.
Finally, I ordered this devotional book this week and I am already loving it. I follow Shauna on social media so I was already a fan, but this book grabbed me right away. It isn’t just a devotional, it also has recipes! So fun 🙂 I can’t help but read not just each day but to also read ahead, it’s that good.
That is all for today, but I have a ton of projects going on that I’ll be sharing with you in the next few weeks. I am getting all my organizational energy out by working on the pantry here in our rental house, I have been helping my parents’ design a new master bathroom and their renovation is just starting so more on that and of course, I have been working on design, mood boards and lighting for our new home (read about that here) so lots to share over the next few months. In the meantime, have a great weekend!

Love the rug. And, great price too. Now following Erin on IG as well. Katie gave me the Savor devotional for Christmas a couple years ago and I love it. I also loved her book Bread and Wine. I have a quote from it framed in our kitchen.

AMY, I went to Shauna’s web site from you message – and put in devotional book and it didn’t come up…I’d love it. As you know it has been a rough year and this would be great.. Good luck to you and family on building and eventual move. A.M.
