It’s been pretty busy as far as projects around here. My kitchen is in the very. final. stage! and I am really excited to show it off to you later this weekend. I am just waiting for a few pieces of cabinet hardware, I can’t get over the difference the new cabinet paint color has made. I love being in the space now, I actually want to cook again! My family is thrilled 🙂
But, back to the One Room Challenge. You can see what I started with here with Week 1. Since this week was tear down, remove and start-the-painting week, I will spare you a picture of the chaos I have created! Let’s hope we don’t get any unexpected guests anytime soon, I suppose they can head down to our basement bathroom if nature calls 🙂 I did get some things ordered for the space so I thought I would share my current design plan.

Over the next week, I will be finishing the painting and then can install the temporary wallpaper from Tempaper Designs, of everything that paper is what I am most excited about. The mirror is going to get some updating too–but that’s a story for another week.
That’s about all I have to tell for the One Room Challenge for this week, luckily I still have five more weeks to finish up the space 🙂 I don’t know what it is but time moves faster during the One Room Challenge, for sure. You can see what all the other linking participants are up to over at Calling it Home, there are some great makeovers going on.
Before I go, I have few other fun Friday “Free for Alls” to share with you today…
I shared the above picture on Instagram and Facebook but I am just enamored with this black and white pillow from Target. It’s soft, like flannel so perfect for this time of year. Not all stores carry this line, but you can get in online HERE.
I also ordered this throw along with the pillow, it’s also so soft {and so on sale!}. I am looking forward to some serious couch/football/relaxing this weekend. I read magazines or browse Pinterest though watching football–am I the only one with serious ADD? It drives my husband crazy…but I digress.
I had a fun afternoon shopping with my daughter yesterday, we rarely venture to an actual mall these days but she had a half-day of school so we set out for some girl time. Our mall just opened an Alter’D store {thanks for the heads up Stephanie!} and I picked up this darling tassel necklace. The coolest thing is that it reverses to another color, so I have gray on one side and a pale pink on the other, it’s like two necklaces in one! Plus I love that they give a portion of their sales back, what a great store 🙂

I hope you all have a lovely weekend, let us know if you have anything fun planned!

Oh Amy, you look so cute! Love the necklace, the outfit and wish I were skinny too. Can’t wait to see the kitchen as well as the wallpaper in the bath. I love that they’re making the temporary paper in such lovely designs. Love your Target purchases too! I was in the store by me yesterday ~ such temptation. 🙂
We’re *hopefully* supposed to have cooler temps this weekend and next week. The 90’s were really getting old! I hope you have a great weekend.
xo

How many rolls of wallpaper are you getting for your bath room? Love this. I was going to paint our walls Chelsea Grey and stencil in white. Maybe this would be easier?

Amy – Can you tell us something about your white sofa? It looks like it’s slipcovered. Tell us how you deal with a white sofa.
11 Magnolia Lane is the first thing I read in the morning. It’s like visiting with friends..
