It has been awhile since we shared a “Friday Free for All” post, just basically a random assortment of things we thought were worth sharing. I had a collection of things I thought would be fun to talk about, so that’s the topic of the day!
I can’t resist a few fashion favorites but I’ll save those for the end of the post for those of you who prefer other topics and also since I just shared some things I purchased for spring in this post here. I admit to enjoying seeing what other people discover on Amazon that makes their lives easier so I wanted to start with some recent things that have come our way that are worth sharing.

I am still working in our yard most nice days, we’re still trying to get our landscaping in shape being that our home was built 3 years ago so we had to start everything from scratch. The side of our home gets full sun, and I have been struggling to get plants to thrive there. I added this long soaker hose from Amazon along the garden bed and tacked it place using landscaping fabric pins, now instead of messing with moving a sprinkler I just turn this hose on and let it run for a short time. It’s much easier and the watering is more efficient, so far my plants there seem to be much happier than they have been.

I used to get so frustrated having to reach around to try to dig up my purse from the backseat of my car, but when I discovered these hooks now that is so much easier. They attach to the headrest (see below) and you can hang your purse (or a shopping bag) directly from them. You can also use them on road trips if you have kids in the back to hold a bag of stuff for them, they are such a brilliant idea! I can just reach in to my purse to get something and it makes it easy to grab and go.

I recently added this cookbook to my collection, when I read the description I was interested in Giada’s new healthy approach to eating since it sounded pretty similar to how I try to eat. (More on that here) I thought this book had quite a bit of good information about how, unfortunately, as we get older we can’t eat pretty much anything like we could earlier in our lives and it has good ways to make better choices. She also gives good advice about how food can help heal, which has definitely been my experience. I am looking forward to trying more of her healthy recipes over the coming summer months.

I have been researching different natural/low-sugar beverage brands and I admit that I was influenced by an Instagram ad to order some wine from Bev. I know that the idea of wine in a can is a bit off-putting but since I am the only one in my home who drinks wine, I almost always throw away the portion of the wine that has gone bad after a few days (I only drink about one glass a night) so this seemed like a good solution. I also like that it’s low sugar and has natural ingredients, just like food I find that wine impacts me harder (ugh, headaches) than it used to these days. I ordered the rosé and while it is dry with a hint of bubbles it seems perfect for this time of year. If you want to give it a try for yourself you can get 15% off with the code BEV15 (this is not sponsored, you can refer your friends too!).

If you are still in need of a Mother’s Day gift (hello last minute!) or to get ahead for Father’s Day next month, I very much recommend Storyworth. I gave this to my Dad last Christmas and while I haven’t seen his book yet, I know we’ll treasure it forever. With Storyworth you pay the initial fee and each week Storyworth will email a question about life/childhood/their past to the recipient, they fill out their answer and email it back. At the end of the year all the stories are compiled into a keepsake book. I have other people in mind to send this to next, so we’ll have a collection of family life stories that will live long beyond the special people in our lives, not to mention they will capture a time that we’ll barely remember. (again this is not sponsored, just something I thought was a great gift!). Note: this needs to go to someone who is tech savvy enough on a computer to write up the answers and email them in, so keep that in mind.
A few fun spring fashion finds since my last post…

I surprised myself a bit with this kimono purchase but I saw it online, then kept coming back to it and eventually ordered it because the sale price was so good! I liked how this longer duster style could be worn as a casual outfit or even dressed up like the model is wearing it, or it could even be a bathing suit cover up. It’s regularly priced at $78 but if you add to cart it is only $25.

These shoes would look great with that kimono wouldn’t they? These are in my cart for summer, the woven look is very in style.

As my daughter would tell me, this suit above is perfectly “on brand” for me, I always love blue and florals! I am pretty sure that this will be my favorite for pool days this summer. This one below is also a huge seller, the orange would look amazing with a tan.

Speaking of tans, I don’t use this often since I try to avoid any extra chemicals but this is the best natural self tanner I have found. It’s a little pricey but a little goes a long way!
