Happy Friday, another week down! Today, in addition to just sharing the latest and greatest finds from around the internet, I also have an outfit for you that I think works for all ages and body types, so scroll down for that!
I’d planned to write about my favorite beauty products today, but I’ll save that for another week, with the exception of telling you about my favorite $5 mascara. There are some great sales with President’s Day weekend and all, so I have a bunch of things worth mentioning today. First though, do you have fun weekend plans? My husband has a work thing so we can’t do much, but our oldest son is traveling with cousins for our annual family get together. He’ll be hanging out with his 40+ first cousins, so no doubt he will have a great time, we are sad to miss it.
We are however, heading to Florida in a little over a month for spring break, so I have started to think about spring clothes but even with that in mind, winter stuff is going on sale so it’s a great time to pick up some things at a discount. I am still on the hunt for the perfect pair of new jeans, I had to return the ones I mentioned in this post, they were just a little too small. This time, I ordered two sizes since I can be in between in the pair below. That is the best part of the free shipping/free returns, I’ll just return the pair that doesn’t fit.
Nordstrom started their winter sale today, they have some of our winter favorites on sale as well as some things we told you already we love, like this circle cardigan (I wear mine all the time), or this cardigan–a total steal. I spied this jacket (below) which is perfect for spring. I wear my olive jacket all fall and spring during the transitional weather, I love the sleeves on this one.
How cute is this white ruffle top? Perfect to wear under a cardigan now, or with jeans later, only $20 with shipping, this will go fast.
They also have a ton of the Zella workout wear on sale, I have these leggings in my cart, I love the pattern and the high-waisted leggings are the best. Anything that motivates me to exercise is a good thing, and new workout clothes seem to do the trick 🙂 See all Zella sale HERE.
On to the outfit I wanted to share! I wore this outfit on a day date with my husband recently. He had a meeting in a cute small town not far from us, so I tagged along so I could spend some time with him. He snapped some pics for me because I couldn’t help but think what a great outfit this is. Not only is the whole cape/poncho look really comfortable but really, this style looks great on everyone. I think the trick is to wear skinny lines on the bottom with the oversized top. I paired black jeggings for daytime, but I actually purchased this cape sweater to go with leather leggings, which I consider more of an evening look. {Sidenote: I am wearing the leather leggings with this tonight for a belated Valentine’s celebration, I have this brand, similar to these.} I

No matter what size or shape you are, this flare of the cape style is flattering. I think it’s an ageless look and still on trend for this season. I have linked some of my favorite cape style sweaters below. These are also perfect for spring. I love, love, love the one I have on, it is so warm and nicely made, I was pleasantly surprised because I haven’t ordered from this site before. A pair of good quality black leggings (or jeggings) are perfect to pair, similar to these.
If you are more of a Target shopper than a Nordstrom girl, I have some fun finds from there as well. I opened my online cart and found a bunch of things I have been saving in it, obviously, I have been thinking ahead to spring. How cute is this pink clutch? It looks just like a designer version and the pink is perfect.
This bathing suit is darling, I know it’s still early to buy swim but the selection is always terrible by summer, so I am tempted to grab this cute one now. It comes in a bikini version too.
Finally, because we love to share our favorite things. I started to write up my favorite beauty products (that will be another post) but I wanted to pass along this drugstore favorite–it’s less than $5 and I have been using it for years. I am picky about mascara, and this one is one of the best I have found. I had to share it because earlier this week I tried another mainstream brand that I’d heard was amazing, and within a few hours I had more mascara under my eyes than on them…Ugh. Anyway, just wanted to pass along that I think this one is not just a bargain but also works well too!
I’ll be sure to add in anything else too good to miss, but in the meantime enjoy your holiday weekend if you are lucky enough to have the extra day off!
PS–Lest you think I have nothing to talk about but shopping….I loved this post by our dear friend Julie, who is celebrating her 1000 post 🙂 she puts in words what this whole blogging thing means when you’ve been at it for awhile. I couldn’t have said it better myself!
