TGIF, everyone, and welcome to another installment of our Friday Favorite Finds!
I originally meant for today to be a post all about what I’m reading right now, but I’ve only managed to read two books in the past month (can you say busy?!). That being said, I think you’ll enjoy the one I’m in the middle of right now, Mythical Me by Richella Parham. Richella is a friend and fellow North Carolinian and she blogs at Imparting Grace.
Her book is full of gems on how to avoid the culture of comparison that is part of our modern world. It’s a fast read, but a profound one, and it’s worth your time! {Find it HERE}
I will admit that I’ve been watching and listening more than I’ve been reading this past month, because I can have a show on in the background while I’m painting, or planting, or cleaning. If you love to watch home improvement shows, check out Good Bones and Home Town. I get them free through our Hulu subscription and they’re both on HGTV.
Here are a few other things that are on my favorites list this week:
This kimono is very similar to one that I already have–and I get so many compliments every time I wear it! It’s one size fits most, comes in five fall patterns, and is under $30. Wouldn’t this be a nice gift to give to a friend having a birthday? Or maybe to put in a Christmas stocking!

Speaking of Christmas, you might be interested in this tree skirt for only $19.99. Or you can use the kimono/shawl above as a tree skirt when you’re not wearing it!
Buffalo check tree skirt in black or red (only $19.99)
I will confess to buying a new pair of shoes this fall. Ballet flats are my signature shoe style during the cooler months, and when I saw these suede Tory Burch ballet flats, I had to have them. The color is called Dark Tiramisu and they are the fall/winter version of the Miller sandal in vintage vachetta, because the color goes with everything! They come in eight other colors and I also loved the orange, red, and gold, but this one is so versatile. I sized up 1/2 size and they are perfect.

My daughter loves everything about Reese Witherspoon, and I’ll admit that I do, too. She found this hilarious What Would Dolly Do? T shirt at Draper James and we ordered one for us to share. It’s 100% cotton, which strangely in hard to find in a graphic tee these days, and it’s so fun. We both love it so it’s usually in the laundry, but when it’s my turn, I pair it with a jean jacket and pink–wait for it–ballet flats.
I will try to do a better job of reading over the next month, but since we are about to enter the crazy holiday season, that might be wishful thinking. In the meantime, enjoy your weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Thanks so much for the shout-out about my book! I so hope it’s a blessing to you.
LOVE the buffalo plaid tree skirt, but that Dolly T-shirt? Now that’s the best!

Our pleasure, Richella!
