This week went by so quickly it seems. We are all finally on summer break, my daughter’s school finishes later so she was more than ready to be done. I am so excited that we are all on summer vacation.
This week for Friday Favorite Finds I rounded up some of the best “summer essentials” finds {though there are some other random things mixed in that were too good not to mention}. We are getting ready to go on vacation so I am still on the hunt for those little things {and a few big things!} to take with us. We’re doing a huge family trip in honor of my parents’ 50th anniversary, we are all counting the days!
The biggest thing I need for a week at the beach is a new bathing suit, and really isn’t bathing suit shopping the worst? Last weekend at the pool I was joking with my friends how overdue I was to invest in some new swimsuits. I’ll spare you the embarrassing story but let’s say I had a slight wardrobe malfunction with my favorite suit at the pool Friday night, so the next day I combed through my suit collection and realized it had literally been years since I had bought some mom-appropriate/neighborhood pool suits. I did scoop up two Trina Turk bikinis last year for a steal on Zulily but those I reserve more for getaways with my husband {when surrounded by strangers!}, I don’t tend to don those on run of the mill afternoons at the pool with my kids, at my age I am sure that our neighbors and friends are grateful for that 🙂

Here are the two suits I have ordered so far. This one came in and I love it, I have opted for tankinis over one piece suits forever it seems, but this year one piece suits are hot and there are some really fun styles out. I am also very tempted by this cutout suit, and there are some other great deals in the sale section HERE.
Loft is running a sale on some summer items this week and some of their swim is on sale. I haven’t tried their swim collection before, but I ordered this suit {because, well scallops!} and both pieces were less than $50, and it has a bikini top you can also get too. I can’t wait to see if I like it. All their swim is here. Don’t forget the sale items are an additional 40% off, lots of tops and dresses on sale too.
These flip flops are a great price, as I have mentioned I love the quality of Tory Burch flip flops, this is a great price and the pink is so fun!
The Nordstrom Half-Yearly Sale ended on Monday, but really so much is still on sale. This Pleione {one of our favorite brands} bell sleeved top is on sale for $29 and comes in a ton of cute colors, including solids. This would be just as cute for work as it is with a pair of shorts and a statement necklace for a night out. This one is a little dressier, but also on sale, Christy has it and wore it when we went to New York last winter.
Cold Shoulder is the thing right now, if you want to try the trend without a major financial outlay, this top {in a ton of colors} is only $23–shipped! These $8 earrings would be great with this style top, or pair it with this necklace {still on sale} for less than $12 shipped for a complete look for under $40.
For those of you more interested in home decor than fashion {thanks for sticking around through all the fashion chat!}, here are some deals that caught my eye this week.
A huge assortment of pillow covers here, most of my seasonal ones I grab here and swap out when I am ready for a change. I love this pretty navy and aqua pattern, just $14 with $2 shipping. You can also get Outdoor Pillows here for the same price.
This deal seems too good to be true–this bed is on sale for $269! It comes in gray and navy too. That is a good price for a stand alone headboard, much less an entire bed, so I had to share it. Free shipping too!
It is the summer of the unicorn, and this float is too fun. My daughter is insisting we bring this one on vacation with us, and she’s probably right that it is an absolute essential.
These black and white wall art signs are cute to put on a shelf or mix in a gallery wall, just $11.99 with different sayings to choose from.
These woven baskets are really cool, I can think of so many things I’d store in them starting with throws in my living room. They come as the set of three so storage galore!
Fourth of July is around the corner, this painted flag would be a great focal point on any porch or deck.
If you want to jazz up a bathroom, this round brass mirror is less than $50 and such a classic style. I have seen them for two or three times this much, so this seems like a really good deal.
Finally, I just ordered a one-gallon drink dispenser {I also have a larger one I use for parties} but one of my summer tricks is to keep it in the fridge with ice water with lemon slices, it is so refreshing! It makes it so easy to grab a cold drink, and the lemon makes it a little more fun. I sometimes add mint and plan to try other fruit too as the summer goes on. I am thinking about adding a second one for my kids for Dad’s Tea which is always a hit in our home on a hot day, self-serve is key around here. Another trick is I invest in a set of these plastic cups, I can sharpie names on them and then my kids know which cup is theirs, it saves me from having hundreds of glasses to wash all day long, especially when friends come over!
That is all for this Friday, if I see anything else too good to miss I’ll be sure to add it in the post. Have a wonderful day everyone!
