I’ve kept my fall decorating minimal this year; we’ve been so busy that I haven’t done as much as I usually do.  I’m going to do more, especially since we’re hosting Thanksgiving, but I’ve decided just to do it at my own pace and not stress about what I “should” be doing.

I mixed metals on the table with copper, gold, and silver:

On my to-do list for this week is lighting the pilot light so we can warm up next to the fire; one of my favorite parts of fall!

I changed out my throw pillows for ones that have a fall palette.

As soon as my lilies are done, I’ll replace them with some pumpkins and dried hydrangeas, but for now I’m enjoying their fragrance.  They were the flower I used in my wedding bouquet, and my husband bought them for me for my birthday.

And yes, I know I need to cover my chandelier chain; I don’t cut the wire to fit each house anymore since we take them along when we move.  That saves me from having to possibly re-wire it when I need a longer wire and chain, but means that I’m always left with extra slack to cover.

You can see my huge vintage dough bowl in the niche above the front door; it’s filled with dried hydrangeas.

I usually put candy corn in an apothecary jar sometimes in September or October.  Yes, the kids eat it, but not as quickly as you’d think!

The living room is huge and so I probably won’t paint it (it would require scaffolding), but the warm gold color is starting to grow on me, and it does work with my furniture.

I’ll be showing more photos of the kitchen later this week, but here it is with its new paint job (BM Edgecombe Grey).

  1. Hi,
I was so exited to see more home decor items. It all looks so good.

  2. Your home looks beautiful Christy….I so love the copper pitcher….such a beautiful and versatile item for any season….Your fall touches are perfect. I seem to have done less and less of seasonal decor as the years go by…You are smart to keep the length of the chain of the chandy….After we moved in, I realized that I wanted to lower the chandy over the island….but it was an ordeal..

  3. I love that copper pitcher! There are so many beautiful touches, as usual. The lanterns are awesome! I haven’t done much for fall/Halloween. I gave tons of that away when I moved ~ a few things I wish I had but at the time I just didn’t care. I love the paint color in the kitchen!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
    xo

    P.S. I love Stargazers too! 🙂
