Even though we’ve had a wonderful summer visiting family and friends, my daughter wanted to spend a few days in the Smokies hiking with her BFF before they head off in different directions for school.
I scoured the internet for a cabin that they would approve of, and found this sweet little gem. It’s the perfect size for a couple, but can sleep up to four since the sofa in the living room pulls out into a bed. The decor is so well done that I thought I’d share a few photos with you. Here’s the booking link in case you need a petite retreat in the mountains.

Isn’t it adorable? It has a partner cabin next door, in case you’re traveling with a larger group, but it’s the perfect size for the three of us. I’m off to plan a hike and white water rafting trip–thanks for stopping by!

Beautiful, just beauriful.
It was–and you know that I really loved the decor (as did the girls)!

Christy

Charming place. I grew up looking at the Smokies from the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Upper East Tennessee – just beautiful. I love that your daughter & her friend wanted to visit before starting school; those mountains nourish the soul. If you’re near Asheville, we had a lovely lunch a few weeks ago after a nearby visit at Isa’s French Bistro. They had a nice mix of both traditional and forward healthy options – everything we had was quite yummy. Would be nice for dinner, too. It’s in downtown Asheville & they provide a precious parking pass – call ahead for details.
Whatever you do…. cheers! And, all good wishes to the girls for a safe, happy & productive year ahead. May they each find a best friend that lasts through life as Amy & you both did. 😉

We stayed in a cabin in the Smokies 8 years ago, and it was heaven on earth. I loved sitting on the deck and hearing the river across the street.
I agree, Cindy. Just sitting on the deck was my favorite part of the trip. We had deer just hanging out in the woods below us; it was so neat!

When hubby and I were married we went to Gatlinburg for our honeymoon, and returned for the 10 year anniversary. The place was a tad run down, and we wondered what we saw in it? ha This is a place I know I couldn’t get my hubby to leave because he’s such a nature boy anyway. Hope you all had a great time. Best of luck to Annabelle, and her friend, re the start of a new chapter in their lives. And the years will fly before you all know it too!! ox
Where will I find the booking details you mentioned?
I’ve updated the post–thanks so much for the reminder!
