Today I have a quick and easy DIY project to share. I have been trying to find a large tray to use for outdoor entertaining for quite some time, just something to help transport entertaining items from the kitchen to our deck so we can dine out there in nice weather.
When I spotted this inexpensive but large tray at IKEA a few weeks ago, I figured it would work perfectly.
They had these just inside the door at our store, and it was only $7.99, it is well-enough made that I feel like I can pile on plates and glasses and not risk it collapsing like some woven trays I have.
I gave it a quick coat of white spray paint to cover the natural wood, then I raided my supply of Macbeth contact paper. I went with light blue to coordinate with my fun pink melamine summer plates.
I cut and stuck on the contact paper, but then had to take it one step further and add a monogram from our online store since everything looks better with a monogram, right?
Super easy project, and now I can carry loads of food and drinks in and out of the kitchen. I really can’t wait for the weather to be “outdoor” entertaining-worthy in this part of the country, in the meantime it makes a nice table decoration.
Here is an easy-to-pin graphic so you can remember to pick up one of these trays next time you are in IKEA~
Have a wonderful day everyone!
XO,
