Last week, I helped a friend with an estate sale she was running in our local area. What an eye-opener, by the way! I’ve been to plenty of estate sales in the past, but really had no idea how much work goes into sorting, cleaning, staging, and pricing items.
All that being, said, I still had a lot of fun doing the above mentioned tasks.
AND, look at this vintage beauty I brought home:
You might remember that I had a different brass floor lamp here previously, a swing-arm variety:
Don’t worry, that one just moved across the living room and is now behind my blue velvet chair. But, let’s take a minute to admire the new addition.
Brass is back in, y’all. OK, not all of it, but a lot of it. I saw this lamp across a crowded room and knew that she had to be mine.
There were two of them, and I almost bought both, but the second one wasn’t in such good shape and I do live in a really small house. So I practiced restraint.
By the way, this is a sneak peak of the new look above the living room couch. I’ll be sharing my summer home tour on Thursday (you can see the entire series here at A Stroll Thru Life).

The lamp telescopes, so the height is adjustable, plus the eyeball shade swivels to direct light as needed.
The on/off knob is also a built-in dimmer.
Don’t be too jealous; I’m sure there are thousands more waiting to be discovered at an estate sale near you. And if not, I’ll share a source for several similar new ones below.
You can see more of the living room here, or just stay tuned for Thursday!
Thanks for stopping by!
